Great small place managed by lovely family. Far the best breakfest (I will not disclose the content) I had on my roads for years. We were really happy here with my friends.

We really enjoyed our stay with two children in Budevice. The bungalow was a nice size with one double bed and one single bed, fridge, bathroom and balcony with picturesque view! They offer optional breakfast (delicious homemade jams, cheese and fried dough) which you can enjoy on the terrace of the main building (with beautiful view :) ). There are hammocks and swings for children. The host family is exceptionally friendly and helpful for planning your stay and day trips.

A stunning location with very kind hosts. You really cant beat the view and we were fortunate enough to see a bear in the evening further down the valley! We stayed in a cute log cabin at the property which was one of 3. The cabins and ensuite are very spacious, and clean and a small fridge was provided on request. The cabins are on a slopping hill looking down into the valley. There is a communal eating area, again with spectacular views, and we stayed for dinner and breakfast. Both meals were quite large and home prepared. If you have small children, please note the balcony's on the cabins are not suitable for toddlers and there is currently a bit of construction work, which did not bother us at all. ADVISE - contact the hosts for directions - do not follow google maps without them. The paved road has not been mapped on google and it will send you up shocking roads!

“Peaceful, quiet stay with amazing views”

We stayed a few weeks ago on a bike packing trip. It is the best location overlooking the lake up on the mountain! Very peaceful. We had the room up above the main house with a little balcony which was perfect. The staff and service was awesome, they always catered to our requests and were very helpful. We went on a one way hike and the owner tried to book us a taxi but they couldn’t come so he went out of his way to do the trip and pick us up which was quite far and out of his way! Thank you 🙏

The apartment was very clean and cozy, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The view from the window was beautifully shielded, adding a sense of peace and privacy. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. The food was exquisite – prepared from fresh, local ingredients by the owner of the apartment herself. It was truly a taste of heaven!

I originally planned to stay two nights at this beautiful cabin, but it was so wonderful that I extended my stay to four, and even then, it was hard to leave! From the moment I arrived, I felt at home. The cabin is easy to find, though it’s a bit away from town, so you’ll need a car. But trust me, the location is absolutely worth it. As a woman traveling solo, safety is incredibly important to me, and this cabin delivered on that front as well. While it felt secluded and peaceful, I always felt completely safe—like I was staying with family. The hosts were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and made me feel welcome from the start, adding to the overall sense of comfort. The cabin itself is a true sanctuary. The views are some of the most breathtaking I’ve ever seen, and the serenity that surrounds you is beyond words. Waking up to that kind of natural beauty was an unforgettable experience. If I could return tomorrow, I would. This place offers the perfect blend of tranquility, safety, and warmth. Thank you to the wonderful hosts for creating such a special space—I’ll definitely be back!

At grandfathers place you have a great view and the possibility for hiking trips. To reach the place you need a car or it is on your hiking track. With the way description you can drive on a asphalt road. For breakfast and dinner you get the local food, which is cooked by the the grandmother. Prices are really good for this quality!

A truly magical place to stay. Comfortable basic cabins with amazing views. A little walk from the cabins up through the orchards to the terrace. Delicious homemade food for breakfast and dinner. And most of all the welcome from the family.

Lovely view of Plav! Great setup and accom. Make sure to follow the instructions they provide to access the property - all sealed road until the very end (google maps takes you up a steep gravel road!) We did several day hikes in the area this was a great base.

Grandfather’s Place in Budovice is a charming, family-run retreat with cozy, handcrafted cabins overlooking the stunning Plav Lake. The property also features a beautiful fruit orchard and vegetable garden, and the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner are available, and the views of the lake are truly breathtaking. Be sure to follow the owners’ directions to get there, as Google Maps can be unreliable. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer!

“Amazing place for a restful (and active) holiday”

The hosts were one of the most wonderful parts of staying at Grandfather's place. We were personally welcomed upon arrival and shown to our cabin. Grandmother cooked delicious and filling meals for breakfast and dinner for us, including tasty homemade lemonade. We stayed here a bit longer than most guests (who are only stopping for a night during their hike across the Peaks of Balkan trail for instance), but even still we did not get the same dinner once. Upon request, it was also possible to get a lunch box for daytrips. The property is beautifully situated on the middle of the mountain, making for great views of the golden hour over the lake, which we enjoyed while eating fresh fruit from the fruit trees in the garden. The hosts were also very accommodating in helping us decide on which hiking trails to take. There are quite a lot of beautiful hikes in the surrounding areas - though it is definitely a must to have a (sturdy) car to reach them. The beds were very comfortable after a long day of walking around. Overall we were very happy to stay here as it was a great accommodation to relax and rest up!
