Built in 1853 and right on the picturesque Fürstenweg, a small path leading to Neuschwanstein Castle, Gutshof zum Schluxen enjoys a quiet location in the middle of fields with grazing cows and horses, and Queen Marie von Bayern stayed here with her sons Ludwig and Otto. Füssen and Reutte are only a 10-minute drive away. The former estate offers rooms in a Tyrolean style, some of which have a balcony. Additional pillows and blankets are available on request and at a surcharge. Gutshof zum Schluxen also offers a bicycle rental, free parking, and free WiFi access. Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle can be reached on foot in about 1 hour, in 30 minutes by bicycle, or in 15 minutes by car. Linderhof Caslte is a 45-minute car drive away. In winter, a cross-country ski run is right outside Gutshof zum Schluxen. The nearest ski area is 12 km away.
