The family owned nearly home stat but with separate cabanas. If you're looking for a truly local, very unique experience, this is the place for you. Surrounded by nature , semi clay wooden cooling cabana with extra very spacious room, excellent air conditioning to beat the heat and most of all the Mr. Anushka and family are giving us the best hospitality and treatment.

Anushka and his family has given a warm welcome to us.?customer service is exceptional. we stayed in Mud Chalet and it was really tidy,has got all the amenities. we really enjoyed the buffet type homemade meals,still mouthwatering and had fabulous authentic Sri lankan breakfast . Wish we could stay more longer but this would be our next must stay spot. Thanks for the exceptional hospitality. we definitely back next time.

Our first overnight stay in Sri Lanka and it couldn't have been better. Fantastically good home-cooked food with pleasant chats with the family. We learned a lot about Sri Lanka, the food and the culture. We felt very welcome. Thank you very much for a perfect start to the adventure. We would love to come back, and then we will stay longer.

Our stay with Anushka and his family has been a highlight of our trip! The moment we arrived we were welcomed with coffee and cake (and beer!) and from that point on felt so incredibly well looked after. We also enjoyed two delicious evening dinners with dishes cooked by different members of the family, and they even rustled up a cake for our friend’s birthday :) Anushka himself is knowledgeable and engaging and we learnt so much about Sri Lanka and its recent history. He is also an excellent guide and can organise everything needed for a day trip. Accommodation is basic but perfectly comfortable and we loved our elevated eating deck where you could watch the fireflies from a distance. 2 nights was not long enough, we look forward to visiting again some day!

“Friendly and comfortable homestay”

We stayed at Green Leaves for one night prior to starting a tour around Sri Lanka. Anushka and his family are very welcoming and approachable and we are grateful to have been welcomed to their home. In the afternoon Anushka took us to a nearby monastery to watch the sunset behind the mountains, and to have tea with a local family. The next day we went to visit Ambuluwawa tower before travelling to Negombo. The mud chalet is very clean and tidy, with AC and mosquito nets. Anushka and his family prepared food for us which was very tasty. Overall we had a fantastic time, and staying here was a great start to our trip. Anushka and his family were very helpful when we had some questions, and taught us about the local customs and history

A very warm welcome from Anushka and his family. The unique clay house with its unusual shower was very comfortable to stay in. Beautiful plants all around and a pet rabbit added to the charm. The dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious and traditional. Anushka was always ready to help and give advice. Thank you very much for the wonderful moments!

Discover the hidden gems of Mawanella through the warm hospitality of Anushka and his lovely family at their enchanting homestay 🌿 This place is so wonderful I extended my stay and will definitely be back! Everything was perfect, the food was delicious, the hospitality, the room, the pool to cool down on a hot day, great location making it easy to go to other parts and also lovely to just sit and relax surrounded by nature reading a book or writing. Plus, Anushka really knows the island and is a great tour guide!

Couldn't recommend enough. This is a wonderful Home Stay with the most welcoming family. We felt right at home. We were welcomed with tea and the onsite bar was a lovely touch. The host was so helpful and would be a great guide for any tourist experiences. The chalet had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We had breakfast dinner and part took in a cooking class. Wonderful time, wonderful family. Must stay

This is such a unique place!!! Hidden away behind the main road, beautiful spot. I stayed in the cabin: so nice!! Perfect host and beautiful family. Please do have dinner there, amazing home cooked food. Loved it. The small pool was ideal just to cool down in the hot weather. Absolutely recommended!!

Our hosts were the absolute best. They invited us to their family new year celebrations and we were honored to join them. The food they prepared for us on both nights was delicious and adapted to our taste. They helped us with hiking trips and organized each activity we wanted to plan. The mud chalet was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and we felt very much at ease.
