We made a great experience with our host, he is super kind person with a big heart and he did everything to feel comfortable. I love the treehouse in the garden 🪴 We took a tuktuk together and went to see some waterfalls (boella falls) And also to a herbal garden where you can buy some Ayurveda products. These are not cheap ones but we bought some and we will try it! We got super delicious breakfast and we also had dinner ♥️ I would stay there again…

This location is perfectly nestled into the midst of the rainforest and is perfect for peace and tranquility, we arrived much to the surprise of the host due to us booking very last minute and the host not yet being updated by booking.com however that did not hinder his warm welcome and his keeness to ensure our happiness. He arranged a tuktuk to take us to a nearby waterfall and by the time we arrived back the room was all set up perfectly for us. We enjoyed sitting in the treehouse and were served a delicious authentic sri lankian meal followed by the most amazing night sitting under the fire flies listening to the thunder storm. The room was just what we hoped it would be, a calm jungle like experience. We will 100% visit again if we are ever back in this beautiful country.

Unique villa with an amazing indoor water feature. Super friendly and helpful owner, Gayashan and his family. Excellent large free breakfast and great value dinner, home cooked and traditional. An ideal place to stay for my first few days in Sri Lanka. Very fair price for airport pickup and onward taxi to the hills. No side hustles, in fact Gayashan took me to local and cheap shops for all that I needed. Lovely shady garden and a very cute cat with kittens.

“Little jewel away from the crowd”

Gayashan is the most amazing host, friendly and humble, picked me up from the airport, we did a 2 day trip to the mountains, he drove me to a lot of nice places and was always helpful and courteous. The accommodation is simple but has a special natural touch, lot of plants and beautifully designed rooms. Breakfast is plenty and yummy. Access to town is easy by rickshaw, you’ll find restaurants there as well. One feels very welcome here!

Gayeshan and his family are the sweetest people you can imagine and Gayeshan is going out of his way to accommodate you. His generosity, availability and friendliness makes the whole place worthwhile. It’s also a very quite place, drawn back from the heavy trafficked main road and you don’t hear your neighbors through the thick walls. Beds are good and the place is unique in its rustic and creative charm. You can walk on the narrow road down to the Main Street were you’ll find many eating places and the local people on the road are extremely friendly. Breakfast is included and you can choose local or western style food. They also make lovely local food for dinner on order.

The Family was simply great! From the house to the food, to the whereabouts. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, always homemade and lots of food. Plus you get to eat at the tree house 🌴 Facilities were clean and tidy, and all surrounded by nature. Big highlight were the many short trips we did with our host Prashant, as they know amazing spots to visit like Boelle or watching the bats wake up at evening by the river, waterfalls or climb mountains, via Tuc Tucs or Car. Prashant is always attentive and caring, offering tea or coffee or anything else. Perfect for children, we went with our little 4 years old son and he had so much fun. They helped and arranged everything for us. Explained a lot and we had the chance to learn many things about the culture. Locals know best :) Thank you Ancient Garden Vila we had the best time and felt like home with you🤩🌴😎

Excellent homestay with super warm and friendly host family. Beautiful and unique villa and lovely treehouse balcony. Food was very good to. Recommendation to visit the nearby waterfall and bible rock.

Very quiet family run place. Excellent food, nice terrace and super original bathroom (taking a shower was an experience itself!).. Room was spacious, not too hot, we got mosquito nets. We also had safe place to park our tuktuk. Recommended!

Ancient Gardens was our first accommodation in Sri Lanka and we could not have chosen a better spot. Gayashan and his family welcomed us as their friends and made our stay perfect. He was always happy to help and answer all our questions. The place is beautiful and very special. We loved the open shower and the little common space upstairs. Gayashan’s wife and mom prepared delicious dinner and the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka. I would def recommend staying with them.

It was wonder places. If you want to feel present life in countryside, there you can find it. Breakfast was tasty and nutritious)) Gayashan and his family were perfect. Gayashan met us in airport and drove at home, really we felt youself like at home, we used add service (trip, when we can visited home of elefant in Pinnavella, trip to waterfall, trip to Biblie Rock, which Gayashan suggested us) Of corse i will be recommended this places my friends and relatives, and we'll come back in this island, we''ll meet with our real friends))

This is an interesting place in а Sri Lanka village, which works fine for nature lovers. We liked the cosy bungalow surrounded by nature. We enjoyed tasty Sri Lankan home food, especially dinners. The hotel owners are very friendly and take care of our needs. This place is good if you are going to visit Bo Ella Waterfall and Bible Rock (Bathalegala).We went hiking and enjoyed much. They have hot water and a well designed bathroom.

The location and accomodation is perfect. Gayashan is really helpful and has lots of knowledge on the local area. Gayashan is always happy to help and goes beyond what you would expect from a host. Manawella is a nice quite, beautiful and a hidden gem of Sri Lanka. Bible rock and Bo Ella waterfall is a must.

It was really unique room, really like the shower. Staff was very helpfull, kind. Dinner and breakfest served at tree terase, was very tasty.
