The photos don’t do La Peche justice and that is saying something. We had a wonderful week staying here despite the hit and miss weather. The accommodation is to a very high standard and they have thought of everything! Lounging by the pool and totally relaxing in the lovely garden were a welcome relief on the warmer days. Mind you with the heated pool I still went for a swim when the weather wasn’t so great. Zandra and Lee are a lovely couple, who set the tone from the minute you arrive; really welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be back again!

A stunning new one bedroom house. Being tall I was over the moon with the fact that the hosts had really worked to provide a stunning emperor bed and large free standing bath into the bedroom. The shower is large and also has great pressure. The outdoor seating area was so large and beautifully presented. We could not fault a thing with our stay. What a find. I almost didn’t post this so that we could keep it a secret and book more easily next time.

“A piece of paradise with two wonderful people!”

The hosts, Zandra and Lee, are very very friendly people, they would do anything for you, make you feel at home from the first time you meet them! They even took care of a welcoming package, so we had something to eat when we arrived! And the house (La Pèche) is so nice and cosy. It is brand new, everything was there. Especially the terrace with the red chairs is completely private for yourself, really nice to read a book in the shadow, eat outside on the terrace. And the pool and garden are so nice! There are more than enough umbrella's and trees to sit in the shadow on the sun beds. You have your own private parking space inside the enclosed garden and every Wednesday there's a big market in front of you doorsteps, really nice! There are a few nice cities about 50km away: Limoges, Périgueux, Brantome, Angoulême... This is a piece of paradise with wonderful people!

“Simply Wonderful”

We were the second couple to stay at the newly renovated gite and were not disappointed. It was great to find accommodation in France designed specifically for a couple and were surprised how well equipped it was - exceeding our already high expectations from the pictures. The heated pool was lovely and bathed in sunlight all day with high quality sun loungers and shade available from large parasols and nearby trees if required. The salt and chemicals kept the water immaculate without being noticeable or irritating in any manner. Everything had been thought of in the Gite plus more and it was great having a washing machine, dishwasher, and Tassimo coffee maker, smart TV etc. The waterfall shower was large and the bed listed as King (European) was huge at 1.80m wide (UK Super King). The bedroom is in the original roof but was more than adequate in height for my 6ft 2 inches. The photos also show a large covered outdoor space with a fully equipped gas grill, corner cushioned outdoor seating, dining tables and chairs etc. which we assumed was shared with the other gite only to find it was exclusive to us. Communication with Lee and Zandra was fantastic and they could not have been more sociable or helpful, even taking time to help us by calling a local garage when our windscreen cracked. We also had a few drinks together sharing some stories. They really are a lovely couple and were attentive at the right level with nothing being too much trouble. The location is also great and set back from the centre of the village with an amazing Wednesday market and near to the facilities but really peaceful at the rear (the best of both worlds), with large automatic gates adding security. The area is also great for exploring by car and walking with a fantastic sandy beached lake 2 miles away. We left relaxed and overjoyed having found a real gem.
