“The worst experience ever”

AVOID THIS PROPERTY. We chose it solely for the heated pool (traveling with small children in March). The Pool Issue: On Mar 8, the host confirmed the pool was ready. On arrival (Monday - Mar 15), he messaged it was under renovation until Wed, then postponed to Fri. We understand that bad weather can delay renovations, but his overall attitude was completely wrong. After we contacted Booking, he retaliated, stopped all repairs, and claimed the pool was no longer included in our services. Power Outages: The house has insufficient electricity. Power failed twice. The host never warned us that closing the garage door would lock it. During the second outage at 10 PM (complete darkness, remote forest, with toddlers), the garage locked automatically. The host refused to help or provide a key. We had to use force to open the door to restore power (no damage was done). The host then told us to move out. Host's Behavior: Unprofessional and hostile, blaming guests for structural issues. A review from January 2026 confirms the exact same power failure during bad weather. We had to change accommodations last minute, causing us financial loss.

A wonderful place to get some peace and quiet, and get in touch with nature, this is more of a large finca than a villa, with many traditional features and decorations, and extremely well equipped. It's nestled in a pine forest quite high up in the hills, with stunning views down to the coast. Plenty of space inside and out, and a lovely pool area that is just about to be refurbished. The heated pool is large and at a nice temperature, and the gas bbq is a bonus. If you're looking for a clinical, featureless tourist villa then perhaps this isn't for you, but if you want a character filled villa in a beautiful and peaceful location then it's perfect. Oh and the cats and chickens also bring plenty of character to the outside spaces, if you chose to interact with them!

Spacious Nice conservatory

“A retreat in the mountains”

We love the location, up in the mountains, amazing views, trees and nature.. and of course the cats and chickens (don't worry, if you're not a cat or chicken person, they don't pester you, we liked to feed them treats though). We visit in winter and really love the conservatory at the back when we're relaxing indoors. There's lots of walking routes near by, Artenara and Tejeda are definitely worth a visit for some fantastic circular walks and epic views, as are the natural sea pools in Agaeta. This was our second visit to this property and there's still more to explore in the area.

The house is truly beautiful, cozy, and decorated with great love and attention to detail. The mountain view is stunning, and the location is peaceful and secluded — perfect for those who want to relax in nature, away from the crowds. The host was very kind, attentive, and always quick to respond, which we really appreciated. However, there are some things future guests should be aware of. The house is quite old, and there is a noticeable musty, “old house” smell that slightly affects comfort. In early October, it was often cold and very windy on the mountain, so even though the pool is heated, we could only use it twice during our 16-day stay. The pool itself also seems to need some maintenance. The kitchen equipment is quite worn out — many utensils like spatulas and ladles are burnt, broken, or just very old. There were no basic modern items such as a vegetable peeler or even a single plastic container with a lid. The coffee machine is an old Tchibo model, not very clean and partly broken — you have to hold the button the entire time it brews. Also, Tchibo coffee capsules are rather expensive and offer a limited selection. The road to the house is quite steep and difficult, so a car is absolutely necessary. There are no shops or restaurants nearby, and the nearest beach, Sardina, wasn’t exactly what we expected — it’s a local, non-touristic spot with no toilets or facilities. The only unpleasant surprise was a small mouse that got into our food bag shortly after arrival, but the host reacted immediately, fixed the hole, and there were no further problems. Overall, the price-quality ratio is fair, and the host is excellent. It’s a beautiful place for those who appreciate peace, nature, and mountain views, but less suitable for guests who prefer modern comfort and easy access to beaches. For us, it was an interesting experience, but next time we’ll probably stay closer to the coast.

“Just perfect”

Google maps was spot on locating the house! We felt at home in this traditional home within 5 mins, the house is comfortable and spacious. I loved the conservatory, I watched the sun come up every morning and enjoyed the last of the evening. Pretty much everything we needed was supplied, soap, towles, shampoo, washing up liquid etc, (we brought our own laundry and dishwasher tabs). We went to supermarket on the way, it's just at the end of the road which takes you up the mountain to the property.. it was a great idea, and we were able to get straight on with holidaying. The pool is heated (in winter months), and long enough to get a good few strokes in, particularly nice after a long walk. There are a few walking trails locally, loads more just a short drive up the mountain. We had great weather (in January), a bit cooler in the mountains than the coast and cool in the evenings, but it was great for us.. We had one day of wind and rain, but it looked to be nice on the coast.. we just enjoyed a restful, relaxing day. We loved the animals and wildlife.. lots of garden birds, birds of prey and the roosters and chickens.. The (wild) cat is adorable, we were sad to day goodbye to her. We highly recommend a drive toTejeda and Artenara (about 50 min drive) some truely amazing views and fantastic hikes. We also recommend Ageata, walk to headland and swim in the sea pools. TV has lots of options for watching, if you want.

“Perfect, Peaceful retreat”

Location was beautiful and peaceful. Kitchen was very well equipt with everything you could possibley need. Of course the pool was ideal, clean and a great temp due to the heating. The beds were comfortable and the the large smart 4k TV and subscriptions were a lovley bonus for the cooler evenings. Our highlight was the 2 super friendly cats that came to visit every day and demanded food and pets. Although a car is advised due to the mountain location (20 mins of long, windy, though well maintained, roads) there is a bus route that runs regularly which could get you there from the airport, just put a bit of time aside to get there! There is a decent shop about 3km away and a host of supermarkets about 15 mins away by car or bus. By car though, about an hour drive from the airport. The host was very responsive and answered any question we had. We really hope to be back in the future. Thanks for having us!

“An outstanding villa for the perfect break.”

The property is huge! Lovely rooms and layout and an amazing outdoor area. The pool is separated slightly in its own area but has a kitchenette and seating so you can stay the whole day without going back in. The views were amazing and the drive up to the property was fine for a confident driver. Property owners very helpful.

Everything was perfect. The owner was very helpful and even decorated the entire place for Christmas. Magical 😊

The location was amazing, so quiet and peaceful, the villa had everything that you would need, overall we had an absolutely wonderful week, I would recommend this villa to everyone, if you are after a lovely peaceful holiday it's the place for you, a car is essential.

“Total Bliss”

This is a beautiful place. The villa is spacious and clean. The area is very quiet and would suit those who wish to escape from a manic world. We found that civilisation wasn’t too far away, there are excellent supermarkets nearby (20 mins). In particular we really enjoyed the pool area and barbecue - the gardens here are vast and stunningly beautiful, with even their own orange and lemon orchards. We loved the cats and chickens who visited the gardens regularly and are a joy. I would highly recommend this villa, we really appreciated the friendly assistance of the owner, who was very friendly and attentive to our needs.

The property had everything you could need for you stay, every drawer and cupboard had useful things in. It was very clean and comfortable with beautiful surroundings. The pool was wonderful and clean. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. Very rural.
