Great welcome from friendly staff.

I recently stayed at BürgerhausLowen for the third time. I chose this place again mainly because of its restaurant, which I remembered having excellent food. However, this time, we were extremely disappointed to find out that the restaurant was closed for a communion party, without any prior notice. After a long 12-hour drive, we arrived tired and looking forward to a meal and some rest. It was frustrating to find out upon arrival that we couldn't have dinner or even a drink, especially since we had communicated with them via email and Booking.com just a week earlier. To make matters worse, when we expressed our dissatisfaction to the owner the next morning, we received no empathy or attempt to make amends. Instead, we were handed business cards to book directly next time, as if that would resolve the issue. This experience has left me with no desire to return. It’s crucial for establishments to inform guests about any changes that might affect their stay, especially when they have traveled a long distance. Unfortunately, this lack of communication and consideration has led me to decide that this was my last visit to BürgerhausLowen.

Breakfast is basic, but fine. The restaurant is good, I had a great sales with roast beef. Room is quite large, good shower, bed is fine, a bit too hard for my taste but OK. Recommended.

Well located in the countryside. Kind and welcoming host. German style cuisine in retaurant downstairs. Good parking. Tasty breakfast.

Lovely staff and atmosphere, with an excellent bar/restaurant downstairs. The room was large, clean and appeared recently renovated. Our dog was also welcome for a reasonable 12€ extra per night. Phillipsburg is a sweet little town and is close to many walks.

We had no choice of table. We had to sit right beside the bar and the personnel were talking all the time. It was annoying and thoughtless .

OK for hikers and bikers. Friendly staff, not always efficient or serviceable. This 'cooperative' hotel & shop is a kind of social project in an old but ground-up renovated building. An interesting idea to develop in this deserted area.

The hotel staff was amazing. When I checked in, I was shown to the room by the staff and they made sure to explain how the rolladen work and where the bathroom was located. I missed the breakfast time, but the kind woman made sure to bring me coffee, bread, butter, meat, and cheese. It was really nice of her to make sure that I had something to eat. She made me feel like I was visiting friends. The rooms were very comfortable, quiet, and cool. There was a fan provided in the room which was nice to keep the room cool. The beds were very comfortable, clean, and modern. I really enjoyed my stay here, and I will stay here every time I come to Phillipsburg. I highly recommend booking this location. :)
