“Wonderful countryside stay”

We were greeted by our wonderful hosts on arrival at this beautiful chateau. Our room was perfectly appointed, quiet and very comfortable. It is a 20 minute country lane(no traffic)walk into Pessac with its river, canoeing, wine bar and restaurants. Continental breakfast was served in a courtyard garden and was fresh and plentiful. We ate apricots picked straight from the tree. Our hosts were engaging and we very much enjoyed being shown around M's workshop where he restores and makes picture frames etc. I would definitely stay again if we visit this area.

Genevieve & Pierre were such lovely hospitable hosts! And their home is beautiful in a peaceful location. They've put so much effort into creating a beautiful place to share with their guests. I loved all the art work and the breakfast had lots of home made jams etc.

A perfect base for us to attend a wedding nearby. Hosts were charming, welcoming and very helpful. The house is beautiful and we had a lovely comfortable room. Breakfast in the garden was delicious.

Beautiful setting and fantastically restored by the owners. We had a lovely tour of the building, gardens and workshops. There is beautiful artwork all over the house and it is decorated and furnished in keeping with the age and style of the building. We loved it. The owners are so friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is fabulous with pastries, yoghurts, fruit from their garden, bread and home made jams. We even had a package of pastries for our trip. I would love to go back. Exceptional.

Everything about the Chateau Mejean was to like. The room, the breakfast, the owners, the ambience. I very much enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay again. The apricot jam at breakfast was divine and made by the owner. Despite my luggage restrictions I bought a jar to take with me!

A beautiful château in a very quite area. It was wonderful and we enjoyed every minute. And of course our hosts were so nice and caring they made us feel at home :)

The chateau was beautiful and full of character and history in the middle of lovely old vineyards and a couple of miles from the Dordogne river. A sheltered walled garden to sit in and take breakfast in the summer. The breakfast was absolutely delicious served in great style with silver tea and coffee pot. Home made jams and huge pastries. Very comfy enormous bedroom and modern shower. Lots of details like fresh flowers in our room made it all very special. The owners booked us a delicious dinner in the village on the riverside and were so kind helping us with the computer too. The owners were charming and kind. We loved it.

Genevieve & Pierre-Marie Rousseau are the most wonderful hosts. Everything was superb, stylish and of the best quality. The grounds are peaceful and beautifully managed.We even had a tour of Pierre’s amazing workshop. I stupidly left something in our room and Genevieve contacted me immediately so I could pick it up on my return journey.
