Possibly one of the best stays (anywhere) of my life. Charles and his partner were exceptionally hospitable, in a stunning property. They will sit and chat over a beer in the living room - or leave you to yourself ... whatever you want. My colleague and I were on business in the region for a night, and will absolutely stay again if we are in the region.

From the moment we arrived at Château Charles Pepinster, we were met with the warmest, most heartwarming welcome by Max and Marilène, the wonderful owners who instantly made us feel like part of the family. Their effortless charm, engaging conversation, and genuine hospitality truly set the tone for a perfect weekend. The property itself is breathtaking — an elegant, immaculately maintained bed and breakfast where every detail is thoughtfully curated. The large, spacious bedrooms are tastefully decorated with a perfect balance of classic and contemporary, featuring freestanding retro bathtubs that add a luxurious touch. The bar is eclectic and inviting, ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was a highlight — fresh, homemade, and locally sourced, with every bite bursting with flavor. From the homemade jams to the fresh pastries and eggs, everything was top-notch. We also loved the comfortable breakout areas dotted around the property — perfect spots to relax with a book, a coffee, or a glass of wine. The manicured gardens are stunning, offering a serene setting for a morning jog or some peaceful exercise. But what truly makes this place exceptional is the people. Max and Marilène are simply fantastic — attentive, accommodating, and always ready with a smile and a good story. Nothing is ever a problem, and their friendly chitchat is a genuine star quality that makes this stay memorable. If you’re looking for a place that blends elegance, comfort, and sincere hospitality, look no further. A flawless 10/10 experience — highly recommended, and we can’t wait to return!

Chateau Charles is well worth the price, very quiet, serene environment, well maintained chateau and above all, super hospitable owner. Max has welcomed us as if we were old friends, helped us finding restaurants and activities in the area and was at our disposal the whole stay. Breakfast is great with quality ingredients. I can only agree with the others who commented about this place: it is magical. It is a privilege to have the chance to stay here and we particularly want to thank Max, the owner, for making us feel welcome, providing advice and actively helping us with the activities in the area. Waking up and looking at the frosted grass across the English garden and the open valley, relaxing in the tub, sipping wine and chatting with the owner, admiring the ceiling while having breakfast, these were all moments to remember!

The property itself was gorgeous, but the view, owners and location really made our stay a peaceful one. The beds were like clouds, the room was incredibly clean and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind.

“Perfect”

The Château is beautifully restored, has large and very comfortable rooms, great views of the surrounding area, a bar (with mechanical pinball machine!) and lots of comfortable places to sit and relax. The owner made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We stayed here when we participated in the Liège-Bastogne-Liège cyclo, which started nearby. On the day of the event the owner arranged an early morning breakfast and when we came back exchausted he even provided a very tasty pasta salad dinner!

“Hidden gem”

Amazing place, super elegant and relaxed. Great rooms, spacious and top notch quality amenities. Beds were so comfie, I slept like a log. The view from the room was amazing, the place is located very close by car to Leuven, Spa, Maastricht, Brussels. 👌

Max is the warmest and kindest host. We enjoyed our stay greatly. The terrace is a wonderful place to see the sunset.

Basically everything, a super kind and warm welcome by the amazing host Max was swiftly followed by a tour of the impressive rooms and all the available spaces for guests to use and relax in. The view, the chateau and the surrounding area are not just spectacular but also extremely well maintained. 10/10 will visit again!

We loved the peace and quiteness, marvellous room, delicious breakfast, spectacular view but most of all the warm welcome and generosity of the host! We were treated as family, pampered actually.

very nice place, classy old castle which was renovated very nice. large comfortable rooms with excellent bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Guy was an excellent host. we will be back!

It's the first time I've ever wanted to give a 6 on a scale of 1 to 5 for an outstanding, stand-alone category of hospitality and skilled hosting. Nothing was missing and on top of that some great extras like the open fire, a ride from the train station and back, or that incredible apple pie, just to name a few :-) If you want to experience a beautiful house in a great landscape and very lovely hosts, you should not miss this opportunity. It was really great!
