Overview
Inspired by a 17th century Terengganu Palace, this heritage property features classic Malaysian-style villas that are each a century old. It boasts scenic views of the South China Sea and Setiu Wetlands. Constructed without nails, these villas are a fine example of traditional Trengganu architecture. Featuring sea, pool or garden views, they come with a wooden bathtub, private veranda and rainforest shower. Terrapuri Heritage Village, Penarik is a 5-minute drive from a turtle sanctuary and a fishing village. It is about an hour’s drive from Lake Kenyir and a 20-minute boat ride from Bidung Island. Sunny afternoons can be spent by the outdoor pool or with a relaxing in-villa massage. Other leisure options include a library and fishing and diving trips arranged by the tour desk. The property provides a light breakfast that can be served in guest villas.

I loved everything about it—the antique collections, the dedication to preserving a small piece of history, and the architecture. Experiencing it all in such a captivating setting was simply breathtaking. The food was simple Terengganu cuisine, loved it.

Such a beautiful and unique experience! I felt like I was in a museum. I loved being able to appreciate the details of the construction of these traditional houses up close. I loved being surrounded by frangipanis and pandan trees. The food is superb and the staff are really friendly and helpful. You won't have all the comforts you would have in a modern resort, so this is more for people who can really appreciate this place and the experience it offers. Do some research about it, about the person behind it and what the project entails, and you will enjoy your experience to the fullest. The rooms and facilities were exceptionally clean. The location is great: Penarik is a quiet village with friendly people and lush nature. It is probably best for people who have a car because it is a bit remote and it isn't easy to get a Grab to pick you up there, but we didn't have a car and still enjoyed our time there. They have bikes that guests can borrow although they could use some maintenance. It is also a bit far from the nearest jetty (about 20min by car). Staff can help you arrange transportation and trips to Redang but this option is not very cost-effective. Overall, we loved our stay at Terrapuri! For us, it was great to disconnect and enjoy slow days, and learn more about Malaysian history and culture.

The heritage feel and gallery that exhibits antiques were educational. The welcome drinks and keropok, the breakfast was good as well. Love that it's near the Penarik beach and it has a ver nice ambiance at night- the pool, the nature that surrounds it. We were able to relax and look at birds from where we had our breakfast, and observe cows returning from the fields.
