“Peaceful spot with a wonderful restaurant and views”

I travel a lot and it doesn’t get better than this in terms of service, attention to detail, cleanliness, views and restaurant quality in Umbria. Not to mention their wine which is truly special and made by the property’s passionate owner. Our room carried a rustic charm, was very comfortable with an outstanding balcony view of the lake and Umbrian hills. Photos do not do it justice. The food is the best we’ve had in regional Italy - the menu is not pretentious yet still refined. It’s a 20 minute drive to the nearest store and a 2km unpaved road - which may sound a little challenging to some - but that’s the point; you’re far from busy roads and high over a wonderful, sweeping vista. Perfect spot for exploring Castiglione del Lago and Cortona. Highly recommend.

“Absolute top level Italian estate experience.”

Hilltop overlooking the lake, beautiful and well maintained buildings and rooms. At no point did I spot something that broke the “immersion” of being in a beautiful Italian estate (like ugly garbage bins for example). I’ve been a professional in the hospitality industry for about 20 years now and I can tell you that honestly this is about as good as it gets. Genuinely top level food. Amazing wines and olive oil from their own estate. The kind of personalized and engaging service only occasionally encountered at 5 star luxury hotels (shout out to Milena who was amazing all round).

Giulio was super accommodating and friendly. The chef prepared wonderful creations.

The whole place we loved, starting with the accommodation: we had stayed in ‘Torre’, best quality country/rustic furnished with great views over country and distant lake, very comfortable bed and quite surrounding, guaranteeing a relaxed time. The owner and all the staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Wine and home cooked dinners available so no need to leave the premises.

Such a beautiful location, very relaxing, wonderful breakfasts and dinners. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and Giulio and Diego went above and beyond in helping us. Possibly the best lodgings we have ever stayed at, wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

It was one of the best stays ever had. Extremely positive atmosphere, very young and very dedicated staff, perfect and very nice owner/founder. Delicious menu for the dinners, breath taking view... what else one may need more? If it was a bit warmer, we would even think about using the pool but was the last days of the season... next time then...definitely... Grazie mille tutti, ci vediamo a dopo!

“A nice stay, but not what we were hoping for”

Nice building with stunning view over the lake and nature around. Room with cute design. Delicious breakfast included, especially very good whole wheat flour croissant and apple strudel. Hiking trails nearby.

“Never been hosted by such a fabulous group of people”

Di Colle in Colle is truly one the most beautiful, welcoming, special places I've ever stayed. The location is absolutely stunning (with views over the lake) and the property is itself is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. But most of all the staff are extraordinary. Guilio built the property himself and is the most spectacular host - he has thought of everything from the moment you book until the moment of leaving, you are welcomed with warmth and care. He organised a private party of my husband's birthday and went over and above to make it perfect (a six course meal, private area set up, ordered a cake from a local cake maker, etc.). His staff are excellent and did everything they could to make us feel at home. And the chef! Even if you aren't staying here, come and eat at the restaurant. The food is divine. Also, we brought our two year old twins with us, and everyone went out of their way to support us. We will definitely be back, again and again. We feel that stumbled across a real gem of a kind that is very rare indeed. If you are considering staying, don't hesitate, you won't regret it.

“Pure and magical”

Was beautiful location set on a hillside of 40 hectares with spectacular views over lake Maggiore. The small restaurant run by the owner’s family was simple but amazing every time! The wine produced there was excellent. The owner was tentative to all our needs, he even made us croissants to go the morning we had to leave, which was 4:30 AM. I would definitely return to this location again.

“Magical spot with views not to be missed!”

This is such a magical spot. The views out across the lake are completely unreal and we could happily have just spent hours/days staring out at it! We stayed in the room with the picture window and it was really soul soothing to wake up to that view each morning. The staff were super friendly and the room and all facilities spot on – it's real luxury but without any pretentiousness. Little towns on the lake are really cute and with plenty of options for eating out.

Everything was perfect, from the accommodation to the food and the host and people from the staff. The pictures also do not do it justice. The view of the lake is spectacular and the room was very clean and spacious. Also the pool was clean and refreshing. The food was also very good and fresh for both the breakfast and dinner. The wine that they produce is also very good. Giulio, the host made sure that we had a great stay and he was always available if we needed something. We are looking forward to coming back.
