Overview
Relais Villa Monte Solare Wellness & SPA is a luxurious 4-star property with beautiful gardens and a panoramic spa with views of the hills. Restaurant Dolium serves specialities of Tuscany and Umbria. Parking is free. Accommodation is offered in an 18th-century mansion and in its annex farmhouses. Rooms and suites come in a rustic style, with antique terracotta floors, murals, and period furniture. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, an LCD satellite TV and air conditioning. The panoramic spa includes an indoor pool with hydromassage, a panoramic sauna, a steam bath and a sun terrace. The Italian-style gardens are filed with citrus plants. The grounds include a terrace, a chapel, a tennis court and 2 outdoor pools. The modern, creative restaurant uses local organic ingredients. The wine list includes more than 300 Umbrian labels. The villa overlooks Monte Solare and is 40 minutes' drive from both Castiglione del Lago and Perugia. Lake Trasimeno is a 30-minute drive away.

“Great Food, lovely staff and lovely surroundings.”
We loved the level of service. We were told a few days before our arrival that we would not be in the main building but rather 140 yards away. A 140 yards is not much, but when it is uphill, it is quite cold in November, and you happen to be old, that is more than an inconvenience. Upon expressing my dismay, the staff immediately put together a solution to both our satisfactions.

“A place that makes your trip nothing less than perfect”
The place is perfect. Kind staff, breakfast that lacks nothing. The spa is amazing. The rooms, the view, the surroundings of the hotel, everything is beautiful and well-kept. We were 4 people in large and spacious Prestige rooms, 4 nights on a star trip in Umbria. We had a perfect stay. What you see in the pictures is what you get. I debated whether to downgrade the location, but I decided that the place does not deserve to be given a score other than 10. Located in the northern point of Umbria, half an hour from Perugia and an hour and a half from the southern towns. But the roads are beautiful and the place is worth the drive to and from.

“A little piece of heaven in Umbria!!”
I think I’ll rave about this stay forever. It’s the nicest hotel I have ever experienced. We were upgraded on check-in and received the most incredible room. It truly felt like a dream from start to finish. The staff were consistently warm and gracious, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfast is phenomenal, with complimentary prosecco available if you wish. We had dinner here on two nights, and both meals were absolutely five-star. The spa is beautiful, and we loved spending time in the thermal suites. There are two swimming pools with breathtaking scenic views, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. Everything felt cinematic, as if I had stepped into a movie. My only regret is not booking the entire holiday here. I cannot wait to return.

This place was fantastic. The staff are so lovely and helpful. The rooms are stunning and the views from the hotel are second to none. The food at the restaurant is delicious. The pools are well maintained and there is enough shade. The spa is lovely. We will be back.
