“Oh My Gracious - is this fabulous”

Everything and more! There is nothing not to like about being ushered into the most beautifully decorated and sublimely nestled compound of two cottages (may I say?) that are lovingly looked after by Khun Pen and Kanlaya. Philip and Kanlya upgraded my party and me to the honeymoon suite and its guest house, overlooking a valley. The love in the details of the houses is captivating and the grace and joy with which the staff is engaging is unique. We went for a long swim in the river flowing below the premises, indulged the delicious food and even cherished a bonfire. This is a one of a kind homestay, and staying here you will bring fond memories home. We will we back!

We loved the complete luxury of the King Suite with spa bath.l, not to mention the beauty of the entire property. Every aspect was top of the line from the beautiful furniture, to the comfort of the luxurious bed, the authentic artwork, decadent jacuzzi on the deck overlooking the garden (they provided candles for extra romance), the sublime view from our private balcony…. so much thought and care put in to every detail. Phillip, Gale, Pen and the entire staff were wonderful! So helpful and friendly. and couldn’t do enough to make our stay memorable. We enjoyed the sunrise breakfast excursion with Pen, who provided information about the surrounding area and people - we’ll always treasure the memory of eating our delicious breakfast, cooked over an open fire and served to us as the sun broke through the early morning cloud and turned the sky a glorious pink. I could go on and on. Gale, Phillip and Pen have created a true paradise at Kanlaya’s Eyrie. Thanks for the memories. We will definitely be back.

We had the most amazing stay of our whole time in Thailand at Kanlaya’s. We were staying in the Junior suite with Balcony and it was just enchanting. The whole resort and each unit is of such a beauty!!! Everywhere you look is designed with so much love and care. Every piece of art, the furniture, every corner of the garden is full of beauty, peace and harmony. Not talking about the comfortable beds and exquisite sheets. It was such a treat that we extended our stay immediately to spend more time in this paradise. The hosts, Phillip and Gayle and all the staff were super attentive and helpful. I cannot praise the whole experience too much. And I would definitely recommend having a Thai massage there in the beautiful pavilion with the sound of the river. We will definitely come back if we come in that region again

“Exceptional property in every way”

Wow what a find if you love nature appreciate a highly rural location, outstanding service and attention to detail from the owners, then this will be a real find for you. The quality of accommodation is well above anything you will find in the best of hotels in Northern Thailand. This build has been lavished with an attention to detail in design and execution which now continues into the day to day running and will leave you wanting for nothing. Yes it is at a reassuringly higher price than surrounding accommodation, but you really will be getting what you pay for. We can only thank Phillip and Gail for giving us excellent food and the benefit of their local knowledge. Would have loved to stay longer.

“Amazing place worth every penny”

Amazing, Its so clean, such a beautiful setting, the beds are so comfortable, Gail and Phillip are such wonderful hosts along with Pang who is lovely, they are all very welcoming. It is a purely luxurious place. They offer wonderful trips that are bespoke to you and the food cooked by Gail is incredible. Its located just up the road from namlod caves which are lovely to go and look around. This in no doubt is a more expensive option in Thailand but actually costs no more than a standard travel lodge would do in the UK and it is worth every penny. The honeymoon suite which me and my husband stayed in has a jacuzzi bath on the balcony that looks out over the mountains, it's very secluded and the room is massive. There were so many trips to choose from we struggled with which ones to go for. We had a trip kayaking down the river and visiting the caves which was beautiful. The next day we went for a sunset breakfast (absolutely amazing food and views) followed by a trip to the golden Buddha, then as we are coffee lovers we went to see how coffee is made and ate a lovely lunch with a lahu tribe that grow coffee among lots of other things. Then went to a lovely viewing point and a little market. It Was a wonderful experience and I cannot recommend this place highly enough

Beautiful property!! Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Run by wonderful hosts, Gail and Philip, who are ever-accommodating and always happy to help. The stay felt very familial and the food was delicious!

Environment is good

This is a very special place, with such friendly, engaging, and welcoming hosts. They went out of their way to take care of us and ensure we were comfortable during our stay. The rooms, views, and facilities are exceptional and dinner was truly excellent - we wish we had booked our stay for longer! We would happily recommend Kanlaya's Eyrie, we had a wonderful time.

Our honeymoon at Kanlaya's Eyrie was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived and were warmly greeted by Philippe, Gayle, and their family, we were captivated by the stunning beauty of the house and the breathtaking views. The Master Suite was pure luxury, offering a private jacuzzi pavilion with panoramic vistas. The ambiance of the house was simply enchanting, we enjoyed relaxing on the porch, taking in the serene surroundings. During our stay, we strolled to the river at the end of the property, followed by a fascinating Karen Tribe blessing ritual performed by Gayle's family. The candlelit dinner that evening was a culinary delight, featuring authentic Northern Thai cuisine prepared by Gayle herself. Releasing lanterns into the night sky was a truly magical experience. The next morning, we embarked on a pre-dawn adventure with Philippe and Pen, enjoying a delicious breakfast amidst the stunning mountain scenery. Philippe's deep knowledge of nature and his keen eye for detail allowed us to spot and appreciate numerous remarkable orchids. Pen's presence on the tour was invaluable, as her Thai language skills enabled seamless communication with locals and tribal people at the Koffie plantation. We then explored a remote temple, visited the Arabica Koffie plantation, and wandered through the charming village of Pang Mapha. Without Kanlaya's Eyrie and the personalized tours organized by Philippe, Gayle, and Pen, we would never have discovered this hidden gem of Thailand. This unforgettable experience has solidified our honeymoon as the most memorable part of our 3.5-week trip. We wholeheartedly give Kanlaya's Eyrie a perfect 10 out of 10.
