“Fabulous family stay”

The location was a fabulous family small holding with lots of young volunteers and guests. There are plenty of animals both domestic and wild to enjoy. We enjoyed the home cooking and warm welcome. The rustic cabin and environment made for a very special authentic stay.

It is an amazing place. Sleeping in the middle of a beautiful nature, getting awake from all the birds singing (the motmot is one of my favorite), watching at the monos titis (squirrel monkey)... Can it get better? Yes, because Jenny and Heyner are incredible hosts, welcoming you on the terrasse of their home to eat a delicious food (best arroz y frivoles I had in Costa Rica, muy ricissimo), telling stories about the farm. I could ask anything and also get a tour organized to corcovado from Heyner. Definitively a must do.

We had a great time at La Muñequita! The house is in the middle of nature and had everything we needed. The host was very kind and cooked a delicious meal for us. It was also lovely to be around the animals. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!!!

“Amazing stay. Amazing host!”

Staying in the middle of nature. Waking up without walls and the sound of birds around you. And Hejner was just such a great host. He gave us an advice to stay instead of Drakes Bay two beaches further at Playa Rincon at Blancas place and we had the best time ever. He also took care of the ferry trip. Thanks for organising and helping with that. You created a great place with all the volunteers and the very special vibe 💙😍

“Real connection, with nature, not wifi :)”

It was a fantastic experience. The location is very rustic, a farm with funny turkeys, cows, goats, cats and dogs. Heyner is super friendly, kind, a big heart for nature. I felt very welcome. His wife makes wonderful breakfast and diner. Simple and with love. Real Costa Rican Country life. I defenitely will come back. It is near Sierpe, where the boats depart for a mangrove tour of to go to Corcovaro. Don’t expect luxury or fancy stuff. Embrace nature and relax. And feed Hercules the little cow with a bottle :)

the lodge is surrounded by pure nature, it is in the middle of paradise. the host family and volunteers are very friendly and helpful.

The owners Heiner y Jenny are exceptional people- super welcoming and happy people. I was there with my two little boys and we all loved it! They have animals on the farm and beautiful wildlife and great nature all around. Plus Jenny is a fantastic cook!

Very beautiful and peaceful location. You wake up with the sound of birds. Good breakfast with very tasty fruit and the owners are so friendly. We recommend!

Lovely place, in the middle of the nature. For us was the stay lovely we like the primair experience. If you like a lot of comfort it’s not you place to stay. We had dinner prepaired by the hosts, a local dish and it was dilicious!

“Wonderful stay & place owned by a lovely family”

Had a wonderful stay & experience! Super friendly & warm family! It was a pleasure discovering your finca. Place is gorgeous, located in the middle of the forest. Gardens are vast, lots of flora & beautiful wildlife (lots of birds, parrots, hummingbird).. It was a nice little break. Cabin is huge, it is rustic but it is nicely equipped with everything you might need. I shared a dinner with the family & the volunteers helping on the farm, delicious food cooked by the mum, it was lovely. They were very helpful, arranged a last min night tour with David Garro that was great for herping & photographing wildlife. It felt good to finally feel like sharing with locals & experience it. I would highly recommend anyone this place if you wish to get immersed in the culture and find some quietness & nature.

“The Highlight of our Trip”

The most unexpected highlight of our visit was our stay at this fantastic workaway farm. The place is a wonderland of exquisite plants and wildlife. Our hosts were simply wonderful from the moment we arrived. The cabin blends into the landscape, with open windows on all sides. The sounds and scents of the farm just filled the air and made for a very cozy hideaway. The beds were comfy and the hammock on the balcony was a real bonus. We even had a pet dog for our visit! Workers on the farm are from all over the world and provided us with excellent company and conversation during the family-style dinner we all shared in the main house. Our hostess prepared easily the most delicious meals we had during our entire tour of Costa Rica. She even prepared banana flower, which is wonderful. Unfortunately, heavy rain prevented us from exploring the farm further. But the time we did spend there was very memorable. I wish we'd had more time to stay. Highly, highly recommended.
