Beautiful setting, surrounded by amazing trees and felt peaceful - we also saw monkeys and lots of birds. The owners were so friendly and the food was delicious, catered to vegetarian too if needed.

It was very nice and beautiful.It was very tropical and the rooms were comfortable.There were a lot of pets and beautiful birds. Nature is stunning! We had a very delicious dinner. The breakfast was amazing and we had 🍳 eggs and pancakes 🥞.There were dogs,cats,goats and 🐑 sheep.

I cannot give less than 10 to Muñequita Lodge, even with its rustic and very adventurous rooms. The atmosphere is unique, a family-run farm that gives all their heart in caring for their customers. While you're here you're a part of the family. You can be surprised as you arrive, but you will want to stay forever: home-cooked comforting food by the muñequita, Heyner's personality and their children kindness are the real representation of Costa Rican amazing people and simple life. They know what they are doing, just let yourself enjoy this place with no prejudice.

We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and had very pleasant conversations with the host and the volunteers on site, who shared fascinating stories about the farm. They were all incredibly kind — truly amazing people who live and work there. In the morning, we could even watch the monkeys right from our bed, which made the experience even more special.

Most friendly people you can wish to meet. Great food and a lovely apartment. Right in the jungle. Bikes were available and we sang some great karaoke with the owner. Definitely recommend! Pura Vida!

“Authentic stay to get to know the culture and surrounding nature”

Forewarning: this is a farm offering authentic rustic experience, make sure this is what you are looking for. Spacious, clean house (rustic buildout), authentic local experience and connection with nature through lush vegetation, sightings and sounds from wildlife, bright stars in the sky, etc. Hosts working to enable all this and also serving tasty typical food (e. g. traditional soup from veal, increible). We appreciated the mosquito nets. A chance to socialize and learn about the lives of other travellers and of the hosts and other local people helping us with our travel. We found the location very strategic-allowing us to explore the nearby sights (Corcovado, Isla del Caño) and also continue our onward journey to Panama.

“Top-notch, best of the best: this was an unforgettable corner of paradise”

This was the best accommodation experience of our trip to Costa Rica. To say that this family is friendly would be a huge understatement, they are THE LOVELIEST HOSTS and were kind enough to tell us the whole story of their property, their region, their family... Heyner and Jenny welcomed us after 8pm with an awesome dinner, gave us a tour of the cabin, made us breakfast every day, introduced us to their volunteers, etc. They truly let us into their daily lives and welcomed us as if we were family, for real! I would return to the Muñequita Lodge again and again, if I could, even as a volunteer. The tour that Heyner suggested for Corcovado was 100% worth it, and they can also take you in the jungle with their horses for those who like horses 🐴 Cherry on top: Jenny's meals that were fantastic, muchissimas gracias a ustedes 💕

“A Private, Immersive Nature Experience (Back to Basics)”

La Muñequita Lodge offers a very private and immersive experience in nature, making you feel completely alone. The friendly owners are always up for a chat, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending hours talking with them after (a very nice) breakfast. One of the highlights was waking up to an incredible variety of birds just outside our cabin—we counted over 37 species!

“A memory for life!”

Wow... Staying at La Muñequita Lodge is so much more than just somewhere to sleep. It´s like entering a new, exciting, relaxing, friendly world - with a lot of animals, exotic trees and flowers. The hosts are superfriendly and helpful. The house was spectacular. Basic in one way, but exclusive in another. One detail is that I really loved the wooden floor. So soft for your bare feet. Delicious breakfast and dinner. It was very interesting to hear the hosts history of how they ended up here, and take part of their future plans for their small business. We could safely park our rental car here while we spent three days in Drake Bay. It felt much better than park it by the harbour. The hosts really have big hearts and you leave with a better belief for the humanity. I can strongly recommend to stay here. I will be jealous of everyone of you that will.

Really cosy hut in the middle of Heyner's farm. Surrounded by nature, you can here the birds and monkeys. Heyner and his family are really kind and offer a great experience to explore Cost Rica from another perspective. Definitely try the home cooked dinner!
