Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. They were in good contact before and during our stay, they helped with booking a taxi to the airport and left us a packed breakfast as we were leaving very early. Lovely self service kitchen. Our room was very quiet and the aircon worked well. Rooms were cleaned daily and there was a nice little pool to cool off after a hot day exploring Palermo and it was a nice area to sit out and relax in too.

Beautiful old building with typical Sicilian authentic decor. Very comfortable bed and pillow! Slept so well. Fabulous breakfast.

Porta Carolina definitely has an ambiance! We loved everything in it : The patio with the pool and relaxing area is a real asset. Our room was spacious, beds are very comfortable. There was no issue with hot water or facilities. Raquel was so kind , responding always immediately and sorted out our queries . The breakfast is sufficient, fresh . I already miss it :) . The street is in a local area , but very safe and everything was in a walking distance.

A quirky but authentic accommodation down a narrow street of apartments in a 'shabby-chic' neighbourhood. Not sure if the building was once a rather grand palazzo but it gave the feeling of having once been a rather grand building behind a set of large wooden doors. Lots of authenticity and character which we loved

Great value, with good breakfast and excellent service from the staff. Close to the seafront and botanic gardens, less touristic area and not too far from Train and Bus stations. Loved the little plunge pool in the back court yard and communal areas good example of old palazzo in the most rustic way. Authentic experience.

We had a wonderful stay at B&B Porta Carolina. We loved the old building, with it's beautiful furniture and artwork. Our room was large and comfortable, with a small lounge area attached and a huge bathroom - much bigger than expected! Our host Raquel was amazing and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Good choice for breakfast and Raquel made coffee and freshly cooked eggs for the guests, and gave us lots of tips on things to do. There was also great home grown produce, jams and marmalades from the owners farm and we were delighted with the gift of mango jam that Raquel presented us with on our departure. We enjoyed being located in the quieter port area and the centre of Palermo was an easy walk away. We can't wait to get a chance to go back! Thank you Raquel :)

“Excellent accomodation for a couple of nights stay”

Location to the historic part of the city and to transport to the airport was very easy. Use of the residents kitchen was extremely handy. Breakfast was great for a short stay and Raquel, the host, was very helpful.

Charming rooms in a lovely old building in a very interesting, not overly busy location, close to the botanical gardens, walking distance to the water and to the historical sites. Raquel was very kind and attentive. Great to have a cool pool to plunge into after a hot day.

fantastic location (the botanical gardens was a great visit), good WhatsApp communication with racquel before and during our stay. breakfast was fine, but we ate out so late in the evenings that we didn't often need breakfast (and there were loads of bars locally to get some brunch when we felt like it!). we didn't use the pool (or the reading area), but it looked lovely.

Very old and quirky. The pool so unexpected and refreshing after a day of sightseeing in the sun. Raquel was delightful and full of interesting information we had a lovely stay.

Located in a beautiful old house. Service was fantastic, with a very friendly woman from Spain giving us plenty of tips about restaurants, cafes, best gelatto in town and interesting places to visit. There are nice common areas for guests. Breakfast was wonderful, including very nice homemade jam. They provided good gluten-free, lactose-free options, which is rarely the case.

Comfortable pillows and good air conditioning which is essential in summer. The pool is also lovely to cool off in. Morning breakfast was also nice.
