“Great stay in Pak Chong”

This guesthouse's location is strategic for those who want to hike in Khao Yai National Park and travel on a budget. Simply rent a scooter and you can reach the park in just over half an hour. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have private bathrooms. The place is very close to the train station, just a 15-minute walk from the city center, in a beautiful countryside setting. In the morning, you can hear the rooster crowing and admire the surrounding landscape. The air in this area is also fresh (unlike many other towns further south). Finally, the owner is truly a special person: a phenomenal storyteller and an experienced ranger who has been organizing (private) jungle tours for many years. A very attentive host (he'll insist on picking you up at the station on your arrival day and dropping you off when you leave), he has excellent contacts in Pak Chong and will do everything to accommodate your every need—he found me a rental scooter in five minutes. He's also one of the few people who knows where to find elephants (which are incredibly difficult to spot) and a great conversationalist—evening dinners on his porch were a blast. I highly recommend him if you're visiting Pack Chong.

The best thing was the day tour and half day tour organised by the owner Mr Nong with the assistance of his two sons. The hostel is a little way out of town but this is not a problem as we were picked up at the station on arrival and taken into town to eat in the evening. The tours were so reasonably priced and Mr Nong goes to great lengths to ensure as much wildlife as possible is seen.

The host is really nice. And I got the room all to myself.

The owner is very friendly. Had an amazing conversation with him. He is helpful, and the vibe is very relaxed. It is truly a great place to take a break in nature. A great place if you use his services to go to the national park.

We had a wonderful experience staying here! Mr. Nong is an exceptional host and guide – friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly thoughtful. He arranged transportation for us from and to the train station, gave us great tips on getting around the city, and recommended places to eat. We stayed in the family room, which was simple but spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Our 1-day tour to Khao Yai with Mr. Nong was a true highlight. His deep knowledge of the area and his warm, caring nature made the day unforgettable.

The room was clean and as expected from the photos. Large, and good value for the price. Mr Nong was a great host who went out of his way to make sure our trip was enjoyable. We did a one day trip to the National park with him and saw lots of animals that we just wouldn’t have seen by ourselves including elephants, hornbills, porcupines, gibbons and monkeys. Just a heads up if you want a wildlife tour around the national park, Mr Nong is not an ecologist but he does have valuable local knowledge and contacts which enable him to provide an amazing day out, tailored to your interests. He even stopped on the way back so we could watch some rangers try to help an elephant who had wandered out of the park and into town, even though this meant we didn’t get home until about 9pm. It was a great day and highly recommended. A lovely guy who gave us a lift to the train station the next day.

Mr. Nong is the best host, helping you out with everything you need, sharing his stories and takes you on a great tour through the jungle. We loved our stay here. The hostel is quiet, relaxed and his little dog Sushi welcomes you everytime you come in!

“Comfortable and busy”

Mr Nong was very useful, water supplied, picked me up and dropped off at the bus station, arranged tours I did full day with Mr Nong (saw lots of animals and saw gibbons really close!) and half day with someone he sorted for me (Chat) who was so lovely. After looking into other tours this seems like a really good deal and most tours do roughly the same route but with a bigger group and we asked for a bigger walk in the jungle and he tailored it to our group! He was good humoured and good company I felt very safe as solo female traveler. Big private room with bathroom. Great price, simple breakfast included. Sushi the (small and friendly) dog is gorgeous! I also walked from the hostel to the Chinese temple form the hostel (about 45 minutes one way) and stopped at the beautiful slowbar cafe (would recommend!) half way but for the next half of the walk I would definitely advise to bring a cautionary stick for the street dogs like Mr Nong advised me to do! But this was further away from the hostel and was safe walking nearby, there is also a small shop and cafe near by and a short 5/10 minute walk there are street food style local restaurants which were amazing!

Mr Nong was very accommodating for myself and my partner! He drove us to and from the train station and to night markets whenever we required dinner! There is also a very cute friendly dog called Sushi who loves customers :) Nong was very sociable and also provided us with a 12 hour private tour of Khao Yai national park where we were able to see elephants and monkeys in their natural habitat for a very reasonable price of 5500baht

“Amazing local place with an amazing tour of Khao Yai”

Amazing local experience. It has all the basics you need and it’s clean. The host, Mr. Nong, is the most incredible friendly guy you can imagine who will let you experience true local Thai culture. His tour of the jungle is unmatched! We had the best time at Mr. Nong! If you are considering doing the Khoa Yai jungle, Mr. Nong offers a great (private) tour. He knows the jungle very well and takes all the time you need to spot as much as wildlife as possible! We saw 17 elephants, snakes, monkeys,… most of all, Mr. Nong is an incredibly funny and nice guy. He really takes good care of you, speaks English and makes the most out of the experience. Staying at his place, which is his home, where he added different rooms, is a great way to get to know the ‘real’ and local Thailand. He takes you to the market for food and will sit with you to have a drink afterwards. 100% worth the money and very happy we booked with him!

Nong was the best host! We really enjoyed the time at Pak Chong/Nationalpark. We booked a tour with our host and saw many wild animals! Nong is a carrying and funny guy who did everything in his hands to make our stay great. thank you!!

The host was very friendly and made us breakfast every morning. We booked the Khao Yai tour with him as a guide and we even saw elephants!! We were very lucky and he always made sure that we were having a good time. We really loved staying at the hostel. The host picked us up from the train station and drove us back there when we left for free. He even drove us to the night market.
