“Disappointing”

While the cottage looks very nice on pictures, it is not what you would expect. Our experience with the stay and the owner himself was really disappointing and we wouldn’t return to this place again. There were several issues - chimney and heating system don’t work well together so we had to stop using the chimney after first day; dishwasher didn’t work. Despite these issues were mentioned in comments from previous guests, it seems the owner doesn’t do anything to fix them. There was no detergent to wash the dishes, sponge was extremely dirty and used by many guests before us. There is not enough kitchen equipment and the power in the kitchen went off on multiple occasions. The owner is not very responsive and we had to chase him. The owner came to fix the heating problems and bring us the detergent to do the dishes (ironically, the bottle he brought was nearly empty). He also offered us a 20% discount from the total price for the issues. It has been more than 2 weeks since we stayed at the cottage and haven’t received any money from him. He is no longer responding to our messages.

“Perhaps better for summer long weekends”

The location was convenient as we were attending a family event nearby. The self check-in worked fine. I believe the place must be nice in the summer but we were there in early autumn on an exceptionally cold and rainy weekend, and hence couldn't use all the facilities, such as swimming pool or the outdoor bar area in the barn.
