The bed and breakfast is housed in a historical building, more than 100 years old. It breaths atmosphere! The garden is a beautiful jungle as well! The breakfast was amazing! Varied and complete! Very kind and friendly staff and a good location on walking distance (be prepared for steep roads) from the local bus terminal and the centre of town.

The place was very picturesque, with a large jungle-like garden right in the centre of the small city. The breakfast was great, prepared by the very kind hostess.

The hosts are amazing! The place is really comfortable and looks like a sophisticated old manor. Breakfast is good, a typical MG meal. It is also near to the historical center of Ouro Preto, just behind one of the greatest churches in town.

Stay here. Period. The pousada is just off the main square – an easy walk in a town where very little is an easy walk! Lydia and her family are just a joy to be around. Warm, caring, responsive – everything you could want. The grounds are rustic and quaint and lush. When Lydia said I'd see monkeys out my window, I thought she was joking or exaggerating. But no, when i woke up, there they were running through the trees. Apparently there are toucans and other exotic birds, but I didn't see them. Breakfast was great too. Tip: I'd suggest you take a day trip to three other nearby colonial towns: walk into the square and ahead on your right you'll see a "tourism" office. Really a private company, ask for Evangelista. He's a great guide, though speaks only Portuguese adn some Spanish. He's a good general resource too and like every Minero I met, warm and kind and open. :)
