Super conveniently located boutique hotel with a truly welcoming feel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful—service was excellent throughout our stay. What stood out most was breakfast: the high tea set is a fun and interesting experience, and it made the morning feel special rather than routine buffet. Another highlight was the evening offering—free wine available from 5–6:30 pm, which was a lovely touch and an easy way to unwind after a day out. Overall, this is the kind of place that gets the details right: great location, thoughtful hospitality, and standout small experiences that make the stay memorable.

The high tea style breakfast was great. Hotel was well located, and close to the Otaru Canal and the shopping streets.

Location, room, cleanness, staff

The mood of this place, it inspires nostalgia for Japan, like one of the cocktails I had the pleasure to enjoy, and the great service and breakfast. The room is big enough, comfortable and well decorated.

A nicely renovated historic building in a great location. The room was comfortable and a good size and all facilities were of a high standard. The staff were helpful and competent. The evening complimentary wine service in the bar created a lively atmosphere and helps to bring guests together socially.

Location was very convenient and walkable to good food and shopping. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The pyjamas provided were super comfortable. Laundry facilities on site made it very convenient.

“Best hotel in a month’s travel around Japan!”

In a month travelling around Japan, this is the best hotel we stayed in. The staff are incredibly helpful, the decor is amazing, the food is great, the rooms seem more spacious than elsewhere, and free good wine is an added bonus.

The service was excellent, staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a highlight.

“Experienced an earthquake and being a foreign tourist, would have been nice to receive some follow-up check-in by hotel”

Mid-point from Otaru station and to the main shopping street. However, it was near to the Otaru canal and Family mart is just across the road. Love the small balcony in the loft. Rooms were clean and beds were really comfortable. High tea breakfast was elegant and staff thoughtfully enquired about food allergies. Staff was tremendously helpful and nice.

“A beautiful hotel near the Canal.”

Beautiful decoration which fits to the town of Otaru. High ceiling. We slept so well. Walking distance to the canal, which we really appreciated at night to go to take pictures.

Location is superb, staff all very polite and nice. We stayed in a loft room and kids were so excited about it. Had a wonderful night stay, and it's so comfortable. Water pressure and water heater in bathroom was great, Breakfast was awesome too. Carpark very convenient. Everything was great!
