This exquisite home is has been lovingly cared-for; the interior is comfortably furnished, with a well-stocked kitchen, window walls for amazing views from terrace and living room, and a beautiful walk-in shower with live plants. The owner Vera was very responsive and helpful, even booking a massage for me with a great masseuse named Mila. Vera’s assistant Giraly prepared delicious fresh breakfast each morning; she and her husband were very helpful and friendly, making me feel at home. I highly recommend Casa Sofia for a peaceful retreat in the mountains.

The location and the view from the house.

The most beautiful accommodation we had in Costa Rica. Amazing views, spacious house, generously furnished. Coffee and tea available. Outside grill, washing machine and dryer available. The surroundings are beautiful. It's not humid here like by the sea, the weather is pleasant, it doesn't rain, even though it's the rainy season now .

“A beautiful mountain home with amazing hosts”

Vera and Merari were the perfect hosts and I can’t thank them enough for their help. We arrived with a broken car and in quite a panic, but they were so incredibly helpful in helping us to get it sorted. Vera even arranged a massage for me which was 10/10 and helped to wash away the stressful day! The property itself was stunning, it is an amazing place to enjoy the mountains, and we loved sitting on the sofa under a blanket and watching the birds. There is everything you could need for your stay, and we especially loved the garden style shower. I recommend the traditional breakfast, absolutely delicious and generously portioned, and delivered with a smile 😀

“Beautiful, well-equipped house”

It's a wonderful house - beautifully designed and well- equipped, with a magnificent view. It's one of those spaces that just feels good to be in. Also has everything you could possibly need. We stayed 2 nights as a break while driving between the Pacific and Caribbean coasts, and the cooler weather inland at higher altitude was a nice break for us. Also visited the Hacienda Orosi hot springs, which are a splurge, but very nice with a view almost as good as the one from Casa Sophia.

“Remote Luxury!”

Cosa Sofia is beautiful!! It is spacious with huge windows and the views are gorgeous! It is even more spectacular than the photos suggest. The kitchen is equipped for everything and even has a dishwasher. There is a washer/dryer available also. The beds were super comfortable with plenty of pillows and linens. Taking a shower in the "atrium shower" was pure luxury. There are plenty of places to roam around on this coffee plantation and there is a binder full of information and ideas of things to do in the area. The place was spotlessly clean and the owner provided every amenity imaginable! Perfect place to literally get away from everything.
