Overview
Quietly set in the Westfjords of Iceland, these cottages are located along the Patreksfjördur Fjord. Each offers cottages with cooking facilities and views of the scenic sea and mountain countryside. The simply furnished Hænuvík Cottages all include a private toilet as well as a dining area. Cooking hobs, a fridge and BBQ facilities are standard to all cottages. Guests can also choose guest rooms, which have access to shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Guests can enjoy the on-site crafts shop, along with guided hiking tours in the area arranged by Hænuvík Cottages staff. Bird watching is another popular activity. The Brjánslækur Ferry Terminal with connections to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula is 75 km away. A grocery store can be found in Patreksfjördur, 47 km from the cottages.

The house is next to arctic tern nesting lands so arriving and going out wasn’t possible without birds “attacking” Long drive on unpaved roads to get there.

“Beautiful and friendly place in the middle of nowhere.”
The perfect place if you are looking for peace and quiet with some friendly sheep and a fluffy dog who liked belly rubs. Our cottage had a little corner in front of the house where we enjoyed the sun without being exposed to the wind. It was furnitured like in the middle of last century which is a highlight itself. All clean and equipped with everything you need. 45minutes by car to a beautiful Puffin watching spot. 4 minutes walk to the beautiful lonely beach. Would definitely come back :). Be aware that after leaving the ring road, you will find some long stretches gravel road, but 4wheel drive is not required to reach this perfect spot!

Cottage for 4 is located directly at the beach and the Cottage is quite cozy for 3 people with 1 room, the upper floor is open to the ground floor. We enjoyed it a lot and we felt really comfortable. We slept with our son together under the roof. The cottage is decorated lovely. Sheeps roam the beach and there are many birds at the beach.

The cottage we had provided a realistic feeling of how the people in the 1920s lived. Ceilings of 180cm, no warm water, everything really small. If you prefer luxury cottages, that is definitely not for you. It worked well for us. Wifi works flawlessly and we enjoyed the BBQ.

I fell in love with this place. It's very special and magical. I could fall asleep to the sound of the ocean every day. However, this place is not for everyone, so please read the description first. Peace of mind.

“Love the location don´t like the bedlinen/duvet prices.”
This cottage is in a superb location and that is why I stay there. It is not luxury, just 3 mattresses on the floor in the sleeping loft and a sleeping sofa. Don´t prepere to cook much there, no oven or a BBQ.
