Every corner of the property reflects his love of heritage and attention to detail — it’s like stepping into a story, with all the comforts of modern living. Antoine, Anne-Marie and staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, offering a wonderful breakfast with free flowing conversation and shared stories with other guests, an amazing garden, historic priory and a beautiful region the explore. You will need a vehicle to do so and there is secure parking onsite. We felt completely at home and this experience far more than just a place to stay — it was a highlight of our trip. We leave with full hearts, new knowledge, and immense appreciation for such a remarkable host and property. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

Such a wonderful and unique place to stay, gardens are stunning and the old church in the grounds is being carefully restored. The old priory itself has been beautifully updated without losing its history. The bedroom was very comfortable with an impressive bathroom and air conditioning. Our hosts Antoine and Annemarie couldn’t have been more welcoming and generous with their time and advice. Annemarie made the most wonderful preserves and mango Lassi and made us feel very welcome. Antoine was a gentleman who told fascinating stories of his very interesting life. He was so interested in us and helped us plan our activities in the area, book restaurants, advise on the best chateau to visit and even where to head when we moved on. We enjoyed the continental breakfast every morning and the chat around the table, meeting other guests and the effort made to get the eggs just right 😊 Parking is easy and secure and we had a little fob to open the electric gate. Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts for making our stay with you so special. It really made our holiday and we hope to be able to return in the future.

This was not just accommodation; it was a complete immersion into the history and charm of the Loire Valley. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality of the hosts was exceptional. Antoine, in particular, was a fantastic host. His English is excellent, which made communication effortless, and he was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and a true pleasure to talk to. He made us feel so welcome and went out of his way to ensure our stay was perfect. His help was invaluable—he kindly assisted us with booking restaurants for dinner, securing tables at wonderful local places we would have otherwise missed The chateau itself is breathtaking. It is like a living museum, meticulously preserved and decorated in a genuine 19th-century style. The attention to detail is remarkable—every piece of furniture, every painting, and every tapestry feels like part of the story. Our room was the double bedroom with two en-suite bathrooms, which was spacious and had all the modern amenities we could need, seamlessly blended with the historic character. Each morning began with a very pleasant, homemade breakfast The garden is a paradise, bursting with color and a stunning variety of plants. It was the perfect place for a peaceful stroll each morning and evening.

Antoine is the perfect host. The house and garden are magnificent. Genuine, tasteful period furnishing with lots of interesting stuff to see. Spacious and comfortable, including beds. All the things that should be modern are, and work very well - bathrooms, aircon, electricals, wifi, locks/security. Breakfast on the sunny terrace was excellent. Secure parking for the car. Plums and apples in the garden. Lovely local walk. Good nearby restaurant (Hotel du Pont).

Beautiful, magical place, cared for with much love by Antoine and Marie. It is so peaceful it almost seems out of this world - or at least out of this time. The room we stayed in was very confortabile and looked fabulous. The house is very tastefully decorated and well maintained - everything is perfectly clean and in perfect condition, with all modern comfort, despite the historical appearance. The garden is vast and absolutely amazing. Antoine and Marie are very lovely people. Antoine warmly welcomed us and generously shared his stories and wisdom with us during breakfast. He recommended us to visit Chaumont, one of the lesser known castles, and this proved to be the one we enjoyed the most (beautiful castle, beautiful gardens, modern artwork). There is nothing I would change about le Prieure d'Orchaise. I would very much love to stay here again.

It is a quiet peaceful place with a beautiful garden - the hosts are lovely and are very helpful with everything. The house is very interesting and has a lot of charm and character. The location is quiet and rural but only a short drive to all the sights.

Antoine upgraded our room to the Empire, which was the most classic and beautiful room we stayed during our trip in France, we really liked it. There is an unique garden worth visiting and enjoying, with various plant species. We have wonderful conversations with Antoine and Anne Marie during the breakfast, and the dinner restaurants he recommended were very nice. We enjoyed everything here very much. We came here as guests and said goodbye like old friends. We didn’t want to leave. They are elegant, kind and hospitable. We hope we can come back here and stay with them soon.

This felt like a once in a lifetime experience staying in a 11th Century Chateau complete with modern amenities and you are welcomed by very warm and gracious hosts who also provide a wonderful breakfast each day and great recommendations for local site seeing and restaurants during your stay.

Just a perfect stay in super beautiful chateau, with a great history, amazing garden and warm family. Antoine, the owner, who lives there with his wife, is so great, kind, outstanding person. From the moment we arrived, Antoine greeted us with such a warm welcome. He, Anne-Marie and Nola the dog, were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The gardens were simply beautiful and our bedroom view, were stunning. Our room was perfectly and so tastefully appointed; a reflection of our hosts. Breakfast was superb! This will not be our last visit!

The building you will stay in is magnificent - both very old but and with an antique charm, but also with brand new, entirely renovated and sparkling clean facilities! This combination, it is not easy to find. We also very much enjoyed meeting Antoine and his partner who take so much pride in their work, and breakfast was very convivial! Antoine speaks perfect English and French. The whole place is wonderfully decorated and a veritable museum with all of the gorgeous treasures they have collected!
