Spacious, amazing view, good quality overall

“An Unforgettable Stay! Thoughtful Hospitality and Breathtaking Views”

Best accommodation I have ever stayed at! Also the best host. We really appreciated how thoughtful it was that so many items for dinner and breakfast were provided free of charge. We especially loved the warm dishes, the pudding, the snacks, the bread mix, and everything else! The house is beautifully furnished, offers an incredibly stunning view, and is located right by the water. In the morning, we even took a quick dip in the cold sea before continuing on the second day of our Shimanami Kaido cycling trip.

What can I say: this place is incredible. My wife and I wanted to sit and look out at the sea from the comfortable chairs and terrace forever, but this was only a pit stop on the shimanami bike trail. The host was brilliant and left food for us with sig s to eat it all. They would seem to do this for everyone, but even more appreciated is that they left us special treats as this was our honeymoon and we'd informed them of that ahead of time. We also really appreciated the handwritten note wishing us well. All round, the best place either of us have stayed.

The view of the lake was wonderful. Everything was very clean and spacious. Also, everything was taken care of and lovely decorated. We really enjoyed our stay and appreciate the hosts' attention to detail.

Beautiful outlook over the sea. Two bedrooms one had 2 single western beds and the other had futons. Lots of nice treats to greet us. New build with nice styling.

The views were amazing and the house was perfectly set up for us to enjoy the space (unlike so many home rentals in Japan which are crammed with beds and nowhere to sit!) both inside and out. The bbq was great too.

“The best hospitality we have ever encountered”

We loved this House and the location is unique! The pictures of this property are exactly as the property it is. To be honest we could not believe how beautiful the view was the following morning, even while the rain was coming down in buckets. We were cycling from Onomichi (the Shimanami Kaido cycling road) and as we arrived on Ikuchi island we were recommended by the host even a place to eat out in Sedato town. The host was accommodating and answered promptly. We got a bit lost in trying to find the house due to the fact it was dark and it was raining. When we arrived we were very pleased to see that the host left some food in the kitchen and drinks in the fridge. But what left us speechless was their kindness. We arrived later than we originally wanted and we were soaked from the rain. I messaged the host to let them know we found the property and we arrived. They went to the trouble of going to the KFC 30 min away and brought us dinner. We had never had anyone do that for us anywhere we stayed before. They brought us ponchos as well! We were speechless with the care and hospitality received. There was Coke cola, water and fruit juice in the fridge left for us. As well as noodle pots, butter, jam, and bread. There is bread bread-making machine and we saw the kit left and instructions so we could make our bread. Since the shops are not within walkable distance there is a cabinet right next to the front door as you walk in which has a sign on it saying SHOP. You can take anything out of the cabinet and put the money in a little container left on top of the cabinet. We loved our stay and we decided next time we went back to Japan, we would book for more than one night. A few days would just be amazing to chill in this home on the waterfront.

“nicely appointed house on the water, a bit off the Shimanami Kaido”

This house is in a lovey, isolated setting, if a bit off the main trail for the Shimanami Kaido. The neighbors seemed kind and not to mind foreigners staying in their neighborhood. There isn't a supermarket nearby, but the owners left staples including pasta which was very helpful. We used the fishing poles and went to the nearby tackle store for bait. The beds (there are two) are comfortable and our young sons were happy on the upstairs futons.

“Highly recommended for your dream holiday”

Everything. We wanted to visit as many islands in Shimanami, as possible, so the location of this accommodation was excellent for that purpose. Accommodation itself was great. The view (particularly the sun rise) from the terrace was breathtaking. Everything necessary for daily life was all prepared including towels, tableware and seasonings. More than enough, actually. We enjoyed a freshly baked bread every mornings. The responses from the owner was very quick and precise. We all would like to come back to this house again!

The house is beautiful and everything was very high quality! The view of the ocean was fantastic.

We loved this place SO MUCH. Arrived at the end of a long day of cycling, feeling almost broken. We got in and the view, the house, the treats and the care the owners had taken in readying the house made us feel on top of the world. We drank tea on the deck; watched TV; had a bath in the amazing bathtub; and didn't leave the house at all until we checked out. Which worked out, because there us not much around, and it's in a very quiet spot. The owner was very helpful and responsive too. Favourite place we have stayed in in Japan, by far.
