“The accommodation is a converted traditional house, beautiful renovated without loosing the "feeling”
I liked the traditional house, beautifully renovated giving me the feeling of glories past times, surrounded by equally nice houses. The many treasure houses caught my attention letting me go back in time. Not to forget to mention, is the host. We had a long talk and I experienced an individual with a strong aura with deep kindliness.

“Excellent guesthouse”
The host and his family were probably the kindest people I've met in Japan. They constantly went out of their way to help me with many things and allowed me to get the most out of the time I spent in Ono. I will always be grateful for this. The guesthouse had a really nice big japanese style living room, but also a smaller western style one with free drinks. The bunk beds in the shared room felt quite private and were comfortable. Additionaly, they offer breakfast, which is prepared by the host and can be asked to be made vegetarian in both western and japanese styles. Both were really good.

“Beautiful relaxing stay”
Incredible stay in Ono with really kind, welcoming and thoughtful hosts. We really enjoyed the common areas which were really relaxing and loved the accomodation. Needs a bit more planning for those without a car as not many buses to and from Ono but definitely doable and worth it! For those eating out we really enjoyed Shimomura katsudon nearby (delicious!)

“Wish we could have stayed longer!”
The hosts were really great and accomodating, they even came to get us at the trainstation when we arrived there at 10pm. In the morning too they brought us to the nearby busstop we were going to use. Really nice people! Wish we had more time there, but we had to move out again in tge morning because of our tight scedule. The breakfast was simple but delicious. I'm really coming back for a longer stay here!

The pods in the dorm room were lovely, and I liked the easy futon style of the beds. The space downstairs felt homely and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, just do let them know any dietary requirements beforehand (like when booking). The whole atmosphere though of getting downstairs early in the morning with a light jazz in the background and the sound of a sizzling frying pan and general kitchen sounds was the most homely feel ever — I could wake up to that any day. Everything was spotless, and they had connections with two of the local bathhouses, where they have their own basket of soap and shampoo for you to use (don’t forget to ask the bath house manager if they don’t hand it to you :) ). They also lent me a bike which was a godsend after many days of walking, and I absolutely loved the freedom and speed to explore the two towns, castles and shrines/temples. I have had many great days but this was definitely a top one! It’s a distance out of town, but near the local shrine, and there are some lovely parts of town to walk through. Get some pastries at the store on your way there from the station. Or get the homemade sweets at the guesthouse cafe, of course with some coffee. For espressos I had a hard time finding a good option—found one in the next town over, which is more famous. Generally, the people here are lovely and thoughtful, it shows in the guesthouse, and in how easy things are whether they are ‘on the menu’ or a special personal offer (like the kind offer of a ride to the station the father gave me when I left the house super early in the morning).

“2 days-stay in March.”
The owners are the sweetest people ever. They are very friendly and really good at english. They showed me restaurants and places to go in Ōno, it was really useful. They also lent me a bike and an umbrella and gave me candies and homemade food when I was leaving (the onigiri was delicious) ! Thank you a lot to them !! Talking about food, the breakfast is very tasty ! The place is tidy and there is a very nice common area with kotatsu in winter. It's really peaceful and calm. I stayed in the mixed dorm but I was alone so it was nice haha. I slept really well and there is a lot of space around the futon to put things.

“Amazing and affordable guesthouse for people looking to climb Mount Arashima or visit Ono!”
The guest house is warm with relaxing vibes and very comfortable. It is run by a lovely family who were helpful and gracious. We appreciated that we could get a car ride to Mt Arashima's trailhead at a very decent fee too. The rooms were very clean, definitely one of the better guest houses I've stayed at for the past 1 month! Thank you for the hospitality, chats and recommendations 😌

“Beautifully designed space with nice staff”
This is a beautifully designed space. Staff are very nice too, and the coffee was excellent. Getting to Echizen ōno does require some additional navigation that was even confusing some of the Japanese travelers on the train. For example, you cannot transfer from the Shinkansen line to the local line using the IC card. You need to exit and buy a ticket. Train times from Fukui station and back are also irregular, so planning is required,
