“Good for a 1 night stay”

We arrived 1 hour before checkin. The owner obviously could see our big bags and let us check in early. There was a little communication breakdown as the owner does not speak or read english but despite that she showed us to our room which was an upgrade to have a toilet and shower. The room was huge by Japanese standards. The facility is showing its age with a musky smell in the hall ways. The room though was clean and tide and smelt fresh.

We had a basement room which was nice and spacious Windows downstairs not have blinds or curtains Also toilet and bath was attached to room but there was huge step to go to it Which was very dangerous as one could fall as it was not stable There was only green tea sachets Coffee sachets would have been good too

Good location 5mins from station and bus to Alpine Route Luggage service available to transport bags 3000 yen

The hotel provides baggage forwarding for those travelling on the alpine route, which is a massive plus The room was comfortable

Perfect location - just a hop to the JR station. The room rather spacy, fridge or electric kettle included. The owners were helpful in general (but see "dislike" section). We saw a nice kitchen on the 1st floor, but did not use it. Futons were comfy, although the pillows were... hmm, filled out with something really hard (buckwheat?), but in the end weren't that bad.

Located near train station and bus station. Because of this it is comfortable when you don’t want to get up too early for the bus to Ogizawa. Room has a private toilet. Bath is public. It doesn’t close at night as was mentioned in previous comments. But beware that most of properties nearby close early, so if you arrive too late it can be a problem to find a place to eat

Location was super close to the station. We stayed here because we wanted to get an early start on the alpine route. Owners were lovely and we managed any language barrier with google translate and they were patient and friendly. They are on the list of hotels for luggage transfer for the alpine route, so you can organise with them the night before and leave your luggage at reception early AM and head off. Older style facilities but way cheaper and more convenient for us than other Omachi accommodation options. Futon beds were comfortable and clean. Plenty of room for our family of five (although we didn’t travel with lots of luggage). Supermarket really close by to stock up on snacks for alpine route. Our room had an attached toilet which was super handy.
