“An enchanted "treehouse", beautifully appointed atop a 1920s abode with a deck and sunset view.”
My teenage daughter and I loved the secret treehouse style of Koko's. The apartment is at the top of a 1920s house and has a big deck where cockatoos land in the morning, demanding breakfast! (Seeds are provided, but do not leave them unattended, because these cockies know how to get the lid off.) The country-style kitchen had everything we needed to cook for ourselves (induction cooktop, oven, fridge, kettle, pans), and we had a serene evening basking on beanbags and admiring the sunset from the living room. Nice, airy bedroom with a vintage wardrobe. Koko's is equidistant from Olinda and Mount Dandenong villages, meaning an easy trip to Mountain Wholefoods (gelato!) and the gardens and lookouts we wanted to see. We definitely want to come back for a longer stay -- maybe with friends, as there is a second bedroom available with twin beds. A hearty 10 out of 10, and a big thank you to our host, Kyoko.

The place had a beautiful view around the Dandenongs - no shortage of trees. The host was also incredible -- very thoughtful, put heater on so it was cost when i arrived, wonderful breakfast and great communication.

Kyoko was an exceptional host with excellent, responsive and clear communication. She provided lots of little touches in the house to make the stay special. Full breakfast was also provided.

Beautiful house, really liked seeing the birds eat the bird feed. Great collection of old books as well, enjoyed flicking through them and finding out the history on the area. Hosts had also turned on the heaters so the house was nice and warm inside when we arrived.
