“Relaxing stay 😁”

The surrounding valley was beautiful and nice to walk through. The onsen was also included which was a nice surprise as we were not sure at the time of booking. The room was clean and tidy as were the restrooms throughout the building.

Excellent value for money and great location to access the Atera Valley. Breakfast was really good.

Very traditional onsen hotel. Dated decor reminds me of 1990s secondary school but the hotel was immaculately clean. Very comfortable futon beds. The best night sleep we’ve had so far in a week. Sleeping with the windows open for fresh air and to the sound of running water. Good onsen. Very clean Nice traditional Japanese breakfast Massage chairs in hotel lobby Excellent Location for Kakizore and Atera gorges.

We loved the hotel location it’s in a remote area of the countryside; wish we had stayed longer.

Picturesque location, room had a little sitting area and fridge, opening window, and good coat hangers. No meals in the area; so we'd self-catered, and there was a microwave to heat our food. Toilet near the room, with showering in the onsen (the hotel is very clean, but has a 'faded glory' air, and the onsen was a bit gloomy).

Delicious food, I’d definitely recommend getting the evening meal as well as breakfast. Great value for money. A rustic place to stay with traditional Japanese rooms and onsen, and they provide yukata to wear around the hotel. Good location to do Nakesendo trail, just need to catch a train and a bus but not too much trouble, and also great to explore the beautiful atera valley. It is a 30 minute walk from Nojiri station but they do offer to pick up / drop off. Very friendly staff

It was quaintly old fashioned and genuine The food was very good The staff were characterful It was a bit unusual in the Fawlty Tours sense

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! The room was very large with good facilities like a kettle and a fridge. The duvet was very comfortable but the pillow a little thin. The location was close to one of the most beautiful rivers.

This hotel is like entering in Japanese hotel, but at least 60 years in the past, if fantastic experience, tatami rooms, the public bath, in which our welcome people with tattoos too. Everything has that kind of charm of the old Japan.

The staff were very kind and helpful. They picked us up from the train as we arranged and dropped us back the next day. It is a couple of kilometres from the train station so it was very handy to have a shuttle service to save us the walk.

The tradition room sleeping on a tatami mat was really cool. The staff were SO friendly. The onsen being open all night until the early next morning was great. The spa is close to a great restaurant (with limited hours), and the valley town is beautiful.

The hot spring was really nice, I stayed here during stormy weather so it was very relaxing. The food was good as well, authentic flavors. There is plenty of parking. The room is large, there was a nice view of the mountains. There was a sink in the room which was convenient.
