Only 500 metres from JR Okayama Station’s west exit, Kamp Houkan-cho Backpacker's Inn & Lounge’s features a café with a live stage for DJs and other artists. Located in a historical shopping street, Backpacker’s Inn and Lounge Kamp regularly offers art performances and workshops, ranging from live bands to yoga classes. “A Great Hostel - Highly Recommended Stay”
Great hostel in a quiet area, central (all walkable). The rooms are comfortable and the shared space is cool, we made some new friends there (a social but respectful space, people were quiet after hours). The staff are wonderful, and the food they serve here is great; you must try the vegan curry, it's 10/10!

“Dissapointing. Low quality but high price point.”
The staff were lovely and the decoration had a nice vibe. The staff were the best thing about the place and made the stay many times better than it otherwise would've been. I like that they give you shampoo, conditioner and soap in the showers.

“Good place to sleep, cool design aesthetic, easy access to the station and shopping street”
It was easy to get to and the design of the place was pretty cool. The staff were friendly and checkin was easy. I liked that I could go early and drop my stuff off, and charge my phone and have lunch before going back out. It was nice having a fridge and kitchen area to store my food. There was a shopping arcade right nearby which was cool. The neighborhood was nice too.

The room was very cramped, and the space between the two bunk beds was extremely tight. There was also a lot of dust and trash left on the beds.

Great price for a one night stay before leaving Okayama. Easy walk from and to the train station. Clean room, easy and straight forward. They were kind enough to move my booking when I realised I'd ordered the wrong date, very thankful for that! They also send you a message one hour before they close their check-in, which was very helpful for me who'd ended up on a little bar-to-bar sprawl. Finally a place that offers TWO usb outlets in bed so you can charge more than one thing.
