It's a real guest house, and the couple in charge is super nice. And the stay is as clean as it gets

We were welcomed with passion by the owner and her husband. She gave us matcha tea and sweets, and worked hard to bridge the communication gap with us, English speaking people. The room and bathroom etc was exceptionally well looked after and was clean and tidy. We were heading for the ferry next morning reasonably early, so for this the location was excellent, and the owner made effort to personally check us out early. The room was comfortable.

The hostel is run by a wonderful, chatty lady who easily adapted to my limited Japanese skills. The beds were comfortable, and the curtains provided plenty of privacy even in the shared room. Bathroom was clean. There are a lot of rules, but I was aware of everything in advance.

The owners were really friendly, and have made every effort with various signs in English and Japanese to help people that are staying, understand. The location is great for seeing the various points of interest around Oita prefecture, especially if you have a car.

The owners are incredibly nice and the guest house feels like home. It’s the perfect place to practice japanese, the owner is social and a very good teacher. Great kitchen with everything available, and possible to wash clothes at the guest house. Nice beds and common area, and everything is clean!

The hosts were really lovely! Made us immediately feel welcome and the rooms were also really nice and well kept.

Very welcoming owners, out of my whole road trip across Japan might have been the best hosts. We didn’t speak great Japanese, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating and we got valuable Japanese practice. They even gave us local food recommendations and it was one of the best meals we had in Japan!

“Lovely little guesthouse at the edge of Oita city with kind owners”

It's a 25min walk from the Tsurusaki station, but alright. A konbini is close by. The owners are very kind and we had a lovely chat. There is a kitchen possible to use. Even though the street is in front of the buliding, it's quiet at night.

“Very authentic stay with an very friendly host family”

One of the our best stays in japan! The host family is incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms equipped with everything you need and the commen area is spacious. We enjoyed talking to the hosts and experiencing a traditional japanese room. We really recommend this place and would have loved to stay longer.

The hosts were great. They speak English well. The lady gave me a ride to a restaurant she recommended end picked me up after dinner. I wish that I would visit this area more often. That would be an excuse to visit them again. Well recommended.

The staff (? - it felt more like hosts, rather than staff) were very accommodating. I had come to Oita with little plan of what I was going to do. Not only did they give me good suggestions to visit during my stay, but also gave me rides to and from the nearest station free of charge - which saved me 30 minutes of walking every time.

I loved how kind and helpful the owners were. The living area, kitchen and sleeping areas were clean, comfortable and spacious. The bed was super comfortable! Big lockers. Storage space for luggage.

The hosts were super kind and helpful, such lovely people!! Despite the location is a bit far from the train station, it didn't bother me since they drove me to the station. Very clean and cosy place and good amenities.

“Good and not so good”

It was very clean, that was very nice. The host also refreshed our bedscheets after 2 days, we stayed there for 4 days total if I remember correctly. Also she has a pickup service from the train station to the hostel, that was good. Overall host is very nice.

Owner was very friendly and helped practice Japanese with me. She also drove me to the supermarket and station multiple times.
