We really enjoyed our stay at Holl, which is located in a remote but beautiful landscape! Also the host was very friendly and helpful and as he‘s Icelandic he could tell us many interesting things about this beautiful country and how they live there.

Finding this house let me discover a part of Iceland which I didn’t know about. It’s such a peaceful and beautiful area, a place to rest!.. I really enjoyed a feel of a local home. I find it so wonderful that a family lives there and opens their house for guests to share some icelandic vibes. The room is super clean and cozy, all house is nicely decorated and well maintained. Special time and I wish to come back again!..

Wonderful stay and wonderful host! Very cozy and large house, so we were able to rest a lot after some longer hikes. Ultimately great host, who told us a lot instightful info about the eastern part of Iceland as well as he mentioned a set of hidden gems. It is a must stay if you travel through north-east/east part of the island. It is also a great place in terms of close location to different attractions (Stuðlagil canyon, Hengifoss). Highly recommended!

We were finally able to do our laundry! But aside from that, we had an entire gorgeous house to ourselves. Nice to feel like we were relaxing at home after a string of hotels.

The location here is wonderful - the area is really a jewel. In summer, when you look out the window from your room, it's like a fairytale - mountainous surrounds with multiple waterfalls, sheep roaming around the property. WiFi, parking, and the guestroom itself, are all great. Kartjan, the host, is a lovely, understanding man who really takes the time to get to know his guests, and is ready with local knowledge, and has great tips for things to do in the area.

“Ideal with car and challenge without car”

Beautifull area and I got a real warm welcome. On top of it - by accident - I was brought by the "neigbour" living at 4 km distance for the last part because of a road reparation on arrival day. Which in Iceland means you have to ride to next bridge and back. And the neighbouw twee that to return. This was extreme ly sympathatic and tells how nicely the community is. Host and son were also help full to bring me on the spots like Heretage Museum (2nd day) to 10 km to good hiking place (leaving 3rd day).

Everything! The view, well equipped kitchen, the furniture. It was absolutely amazing!
