“Well worth the effort to get there.”
It's hard to fault this place given it is a real castle. Facilities were fantastic, the staff treated you with respect and thoughtfulness. Sure, the stairs squeaked and the room door locks were quirky... but that is the whole point of this place... it's a castle and it is amazing with views over the river or over the castle grounds, all were beautiful. The rooms were thoughtfully appropriate.

A most wonderful experience, everything was perfect: room, staff, food and drink. Great location for visiting the Rhine by boat and train. Oberwesel is a beautiful town with good walking. The views are fabulous.

“I was in a castle, but never felt like a King or a Prince, just a mere visitor!”
The staff were wonderful. The dinner was good. The breakfast was disappointing as there was only one egg dish and who knows how long it had been cooked.

“Absolute must!”
Absolutely stunning, the gardens were beautiful, there was so much to discover, but it also maintained a familiar feel. What an amazong experience. The wine was great. Best buffet breakfast I've had!

“A very unusual and worthwhile experience.”
The hotel is inside a romantic castle overlooking the Rhine with stunning views in all directions. Each room is unique and filled with historical artefacts and pictures. There are quite a lot of steps to climb to reach some of the bedrooms (four flights to our room at the top of one of the towers). The gardens surrounding the castle are very pleasant and well worth a visit. The dinner in the Bistro was of a good standard and the buffet breakfast was very good. There is also a small museum dedicated to the history of the castle which guests can enter without paying. An unusual amenity in our bedroom was a decanter of sherry which we were told to help ourselves to.

“Lovely one night stay in a beautiful old castle full of history”
This is a very interesting place to stay. The views over the Rhine are lovely. The castle is really interesting and full of history and is very atmospheric. Lots of rooms and lovely places to have a drink outside. The main testa is closed Mondays and Tuesdays so we had dinner in the bistro which was very good and had nice views. The staff and service that we received was also very good. I really enjoyed my stay but one night for me was enough as once we had explored the garden and museum there wasn’t really much more to do. It is quite a long way back down to the town so I would recommend eating at the castle although it is a little pricey.

“Luxurious “a must” experience”
Wonderful experience to stay at the castle. Lots of exploring to do, gardens and castle itself. Recommend a room with balcony for superb view. “Royal” breakfast even with caviar and mimosa included as well as free room bar fridge drinks. Recommend!

Staying in a castle was a special and unique experience. The food at the restaurant was also very delicious. The staff were all friendly and it was a great experience!
