“Dissapointing”
The best part of our stay was Murat, who was genuinely kind, helpful, and a wonderful person. We also enjoyed the traditional music performance in the evening, which was beautiful and one of the highlights of our stay.

“An outdoorsy experience in the heart of Kyzyl Kum”
We had a wonderful stay in the yurt camp! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were especially pleased with the bathrooms, which were great. The only downside was that the mattress could have been more comfortable, but overall we had a lovely experience and would definitely recommend it!

“Disconnect From the World Under the Desert Stars”
We stayed one night at Kyzylkum Nights Camp & Family Yurt and had a really great experience. They prepared a delicious dinner for us — shashlik and a tasty stew — and in the evening we enjoyed a performance by a Kazakh singer around the campfire. Sitting by the fire in the middle of the desert while watching the stars was truly something special. In the morning, they baked fresh somsa for us and fried a very unique traditional bread, which was a perfect addition to the whole experience. The camp itself is beautiful and very well maintained, and there is also a nearby hill where we watched both the sunrise and the sunset. The camp has proper toilets and even showers (for the brave 😊). There is no electricity or internet, which we actually loved — it was the perfect opportunity to disconnect from phones and everyday life for a while. Highly recommended if you want an authentic desert experience.

“Amazing stay in traditional nomadic style with lovely people.”
This is such an amazing place if you are looking to disconnect from the hectic world and if you want to see the real nomadic traditional way of living from the local people. Don’t come expecting modern facilities( no cellular connection and no electricity) but you have showers and running water, nice yurtas and most important, the hospitality of Ruslan and his group, they are so welcoming and nice people. Definitely worth having this experience, there is no light pollution, no noises (except the natural ones)!

A total immersion in nature, far from the noise and daily grind. If you want to experience life the old-fashioned way, I highly recommend it. Simple moments to share, alone, as a couple, or with family. A complete escape. Far from the yurts offered to tourists, the overflowing breakfast buffets, the blaring music... no, you won't find any of that here.... Here, it's total peace and quiet... a delicious dinner carefully prepared in front of you over a wood fire, a simple but very tasty breakfast, little samosas made right before your eyes... the goal is to preserve this place... hence my choice. Bring a towel... You can reach the Ayderkul lake on food in just 25-30 minutes. I would like to point out that there is no light inside the yurts; it is truly a total disconnection. You'll enjoy 😉, no rush, no traffic, your light are stars ✨️ in the sky. a big thank you to Ruslan, Sherzod, and Aziz for their kindness

“A True Yurt Experience by Aydar Lake: Simple, Authentic, and Memorable”
If you want a true yurt experience, this is the right place. Located near Aydar Lake, the setting is calm and remote. We watched the sunset, listened to traditional Kazakh songs in the evening, and had dinner under the open sky. There’s no electricity, and the toilets are shared but clean—basic, but authentic. Ruslan, the owner, took good care of us and took us to Aydar Lake the next morning. It was a memorable and unique experience.

“Bad location, loads of driving, bland experience”
The staff was keen and enthusiastic and tried to make it a good stay. The main boss gave us a long talk about how it is supposed to be an “authentic” experience without amenities and to keep our expectations low and to ask openly if we need something, but I’m afraid the set up is just not very good and because of the extremely high price, I have to be honest about this. The yurts are out in the middle of nowhere, in what looks like an endless field. The blankets were warm enough. There were stars at night.

“Great place”
Great place kept intentionally simple, which makes it special. Wonderful people and wonderful location. No internet and electricity, which is great to get away for a bit! If oyu look for a 5 star resort you should look for another place, but if you want a true yurt experience then this is the place.

Very nice adventure in this camp in the middle of the desert, with no electricity and the desert animals walking around at night. In the meantime, very nice meals served in place. Clean facilities. Well organized trip (upon demand)

“One night experience”
An interesting experience, if you want to realize how many amenities we have in our day-to-day life. In the yurt there is no electricity, the toilet is basic, water is limited (there are showers but no towels), you can phone only from one point in the camp. Forget about the internet. The dinner (paid additionally 15$ adult/10$ child) was very good. It's necessary to slow down totally, as there is "nothing " to do, except sitting around the fireplace and look at the stars 🙂 or at the little curious birds that try to look into the yurt in the morning.

“Super wild and typical experience”
We had a wonderful one-night stay in the yurt! The host was incredibly kind and had everything perfectly organized down to the smallest detail. The yurt itself was cozy, clean, and beautifully arranged — a truly authentic and unique experience. If you’re looking for something special and typical of the area, this is absolutely the place to be. Highly recommended!

“Nice idea but we felt tricked”
Lunch at the family guest house was one of the best in Uzbekistan. Landscape in the desert is beautiful.

Excellent location, although you need to go either with a tour or rent a car (SUV recommended, although regular cars pass as well, you can find the cars for rent in Samarkand). Ruslan is still at the beginning of his business and keeps the atmosphere authentic (pure yurt camp + one service yurt where the meals are served + dry toilet). If you prefer location and atmosphere, you are at the right place. Our friends appreciated the dinner (additional payment) and evaluated osh (plov) as the best in Uzbekistan. Very cheerful hosts, we spent excellent nigh talking. Russian/Tajik/Uzbek is preferrable.

Sleeping at Kyzylkum Desert Yurt Camp was a great experience. They organized a campfire and traditional music concert. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the yurts were comfortable. Not very cold, not very hot.

“Not cheap but worth it!”
Once a tourist always a tourist, but this is in my opinion as close as one can get from that point of view to have an idea about local life once upon a time and even now in some regions. Asiye, the mother of the family where the yurts are put up is not resting until you are satisfied, very hospitable as are the children! The yurt is very beautiful, the location is in the desert but you can hear some rare cars passing by. Very interesting to witness the process of bread baking, there is dinner and breakfast in abundance. At night there was a child playing an instrument and singing some local songs at the campfire. It is allover not cheap compared to the rest of Oezbekistan but I would do it again. It doesn t feel like a trap. In summertime you should go swimming at the lake site because if not you will melt away!
