Everything. Des hôtes professionnels, gentils, attentionnés, by far far far the best night and day we had in costa rica. You will feel like home and in the heart of costa rica at the same time. Trully amazing breakfast and room/house. Everything is well tought, i am sure this is the best place to stai in whole costa rica, all that for a very modest price. What best defines this place is the amazing atmosphere created by the hosts. It’s something truly special, unlike anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. It genuinely feels like a home you become part of during your stay. There’s also the opportunity to see beautiful birds up close from the house’s terraces. The hosts were incredibly helpful in planning our days and recommending activities. Lastly, the fantastic breakfast deserves a mention—it kept us full all the way until dinner. We give this place our highest recommendation and would love the chance to visit again.

Carlos and Werner have created the most amazing experience. Their home is just so comfortable and has everything you need. Carlos’ cooking is fantastic! If you’re lucky enough to have the Deutsch pancake you’ll love it. Werner was so good with the tours and really took the time to make sure I had the best experience, suggesting options that weren’t on my radar but were fantastic. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Werner and Carlos made us feel at home! Everything in the hotel was so thoughtfully placed. Right from the facilities in the room to the food! Vegetarian meals were delicious! The view and cleanliness were undoubtedly amazing. Thanks for making the 2 days relaxing and fun.

loved the information and direction Werner and Carlos had provided, consistently. I also loved the keyless entry - one less thing to worry about loosing while traveling. Beds are super comfortable and breakfast was superb in a nice setting as well!

“Home far away from home”

From the first moment in it feels like home far away from home 😍 After a long travel abroad I could reduce my homesickness a bit, as I could speak Swiss German with Werner. The hosts Carlos and Werner are so friendly! They help with ideas, what to do in the area and booking of trips. And don‘t even think about not having breakfast there. It was the best breakfast I had since… I think it‘s better than what I cook for myself 😅 So creative with combining the flavours and every day a different dish 😋 Thank you so much for the great time in Nuevo Arenal and your home!

“Very comfortable”

The past reviews are true: this is a marvelous home of two amazing hosts which I am so glad we met. The suite room is very comfortable with an amazing bed and very large bathroom. Almost royalty! There is a balcony where you can relax with the view plus a pool downstairs. The breakfast was indeed unique and tasty. Truly amazing hospitality

“The unexpected home far away from home - with better breakfast”

Everything was perfect, working, clean, and above expectations equipped. My first and so far only 10/10 stay. This is a jewel of a B&B. A true home feeling far away from home with the arenal adventures reasonably close and the best breakfast experience I had so far. Carlos is a super host, helping with all we needed, tour suggestions and reservations. From the front porch we could observe an armadillo, an opossum, and a family of toucans. Nuevo arenal is peaceful, quiet, feels safe, and is child friendly. Lighted sidewalks, kids playground with two good restaurants next to it, and a quite clean and nice lake access nearby gave our kids a relaxing break of travelling during our 5-night stay at Casa Donna Rosa. If we travel through Costa Rica again, we will definitely rebook.

This B&B was very relaxing, clean and comfortable and has a beautiful large garden. One of the highlights was Carlos who is a wonderful host and chef cook! The breakfast was delicious and we even managed to spot some toucans from our breakfast table. We would recommend this place to anyone.

“A real home away from home, a gem”

Carlos's house is a gem as well as the host himself. A real homestay, tastefully furnished. His brekkies are real French cusine, never twice the same. Evenings at the balcony, or the morning bird visits are beautiful. Spaceusness, spotless cleanness. Ideal locaton if you wish to access Arenal, Monteverde and maybe Tenorio/Rio Celeste from one base. Good day trip ideas we got. The eateries Carlos recommends also are very good.

Beautifully located house with a great view. Werner and Carlos were super welcoming. There is also a delicious, rich breakfast. We would come back anytime.

Werner and Carlos are suuuper nice and always there to help with any advice! The apartment is beautifully located near by a sea and you have tons of possibilities to eat nearby. We loved the little “extras” that Werner and Carlos prepared (e.g. hair conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste). Definitely 10/10!
