Only 2 mins away from the entrance of the national park and it’s nice to walk along the path near the lake and get to see a beautiful sunset. Beautiful view of rice field right outside the room, and you get to see different animals walking in front of you. The lady Thushara cook good sri lanka food. Even though she can’t really speak English, she’s always so friendly with a big smile on her face.

“Best food in Sri Lanka and beautiful view”

Food was the best in Sri Lanka - very tasty. Authentic and fresh Srilankan food with a masterchef in the background. The millondollar view into the lush ricefield - we saw lots of wild hornbills and peacocks etc. Organized everything for us! Connected us with a very nice driver for AirPort pick-up which we appreciated a lot. The stuff was super friendly! Nice Safari - we saw lots of animals bit sadly no lepard- but a best and jackals …but its wild life ;)

“Stay on the EDGE”

It was rough, but good rough. It was exactly what I hoped for... Better than glamping. The hosts were lovely and their food was wonderful. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Basic rooms but excellent position right next to the park entrance. We also went with the safari offered by them and it was an amazing and smooth experience. Excellent packed breakfast and lunch prepared for us and many animals spotted including a leopard.

“Great location and fab safari”

The property is very close to the park entrance and has a nice peaceful setting looking out onto the rice paddies, with lots of birds and wildlife to see. The full day safari we arranged through the property was brilliant and excellent value (including the delicious meals we included).

We stayed at Wild Edge for three nights and enjoyed every part of our stay here! You can sit outside and watch the peacocks and occasionally some other wildlife in the beautiful green rice fields and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. The room had everything we needed and Hashan was super nice and welcoming. His wife cooked some delicious meals for us, even to take on the safari tours we did. We also booked our jeep safaris directly with Hashan, who showed us some amazing wildlife in Wilpattu National Park, including a leopard, deer, monkeys, various birds, buffalo, sloth bear and crocodiles. We can only recommend booking the ‘whole package’ with accommodation, food and safari tours. All in all our stay at Wild Edge was just perfect and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet, just sitting outside gazing into the rice fields. We can only recommend this place to everyone visiting Wilpattu. Thank you again for this amazing experience!

“Great place for a short/brief stay.”

The location and views with lots of peacocks just roaming the fields. The staff were lovely, we booked our safari with them and would definitely recommend booking with them.

The most beautiful location! Looking out across paddy fields. All we had to do was sit and watch the wild birds come to us. A very special place. Food supplied was really delicious, possibly the best breakfast of our trip! Staff were lovely.

Great rural location over looking a rice field ,make sure you book the meal packages as very tasty as you will struggle to get fed elsewhere so close to the park entrance. Hashan was a great host and fabulous tour guide in his safari vehicle all booked directly and great value.

“Tranquil, kind, zen”

Our host was really kind and knowledgable about the park. I wish we had asked him to be our guide for the safari in the park as he has 8 years' experience as a guide and has a jeep, and told us a lot more over dinner about the park then our actual guide did on the day. Dinner was nice, beautiful view over rice paddy fields with amazing bird life. Really quiet, no one else around. Good locks on the doors, felt safe. Mosquito netting around the bed. Warm shower.

“Very convenient location, pleasant stay for one night”

The booking was smooth, caretaker Hashan was friendly and helpful, food was alright, very close to the Wilpattu park. Serene atmosphere facing a paddy field.

“Authentic haven of peace”

Nestled in the middle of rice fields and very close to Wilpattu National Park this place is extremely well located and really beautiful. Hashan, the manager is absolutely wonderful – he also organizes safaris, (half or full day exploring the park with him). It was an incredible experience! He was unbelievably kind and went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction throughout the day. His dedication to helping guests spot leopards during the safari is remarkable – and he succeeds! His wife’s cooking is simply divine, whether it’s meals served at the accommodation or packed for the tour. The food is outstanding! I recommend this place. It was a peaceful retreat for two nights and an amazing wildlife adventure during the day.

“Perfect!”

Really nice place, perfect for visiting Wilpattu! Hashan was a perfect host, and safari guide! We were treated exceptionally wel, with breakfast, lunch and dinner provided during our stay and safari!

It was an awesome stay. Close to the Nationalpark, directly in the nature. On our first day we did a little walk to the Nationalpark by foot and discovered the near by Lake. There is not much to Do arround but we enjoyed this quiete stay. When its dark you hear and See the nature arround. With moskito spray its a awesome experience. Hashan was Our service, Our tuktuk driver and Took us to Safari, which was beautyful. The breakfast, Lunch and dinner was delicious and didnt cost much.

We had a great stay of 2 nights at Wild Edge! A pretty location with views over the field. Hashan and his wife made excellent Sri Lankan food for us which we really enjoyed. Hashan was also a great guide at a full-day safari for us, where we saw many animals, even leopards!

Very friendly staff, we booked last minute and everything went well. We got a dinner organized for us. Rooms are simple but big and clean, good aircon and mosquito net. Place is basically in front of the national park.
