“A really nice hide-away place for those who need it at the expense of convenience.”

The hotel is located at the very quiet part of Nary city, so it's really suitable for people who want a hide-away. you won't see many tourists or backpackers at the hotel, just some mindful local guests. The hotel managers (i guess its a family run hotel) are kind and friendly. The room size is very big (unlike the typical Japanese hotels rooms you have stayed). There are only 2 floors so you can reach your room pretty easily. There is outdoor bath but I not sure if you want to use it especially during cold months. The optional traditional Japanese breakfast tastes quite nice at a reasonable price. This place is more like a small resort in Nara (like the Japanese name suggests), not a typical hotel you may expect. The hotel also has a small bar which serves drinks and food, which is very thoughtful.

The staff is very gentle (even though they don’t speak any English - but use Google translate) and the room bath is great. We also had an outside bath which we couldn’t use since it was raining and the bath was not covered. The room was very spacious.

Hotel Allamanda is located in a lost place, there is nothing nearby and the room is minimal. There is no breakfast nor dinner services although it is specified on Booking that it is possible to do so. On the other hand the price is really cheap, which probably explains the geographical location and the minimum service.

It was so quite, beautiful and relaxing. The outside jacuzzi was so good.

Clean and tidy. Outdoor jacuzzi was wonderful. Very quiet even it is close to the highway.

Spacious room with high ceilings and a large, quality bathroom with hot tub and spa. Separate toilet. Balcony with views of water and trees. Highly recommend a stay here.

The location was good for Nara if travelling by car. The room was extremely clean and Japanesse style. We are no longer young chickens so we found it rather uncormfortable getting down on the floor to sleep and kneeling to eat. But of course we are in japan to experience such and are glad we stayed here. The inside and outside bathing facilities are great. Friendly staff but we received this friendly welcome everywhere we stayed. Free parking available. The Japanses are definately such wonderful an d kind people.

The room was superb with lots of charm. The restaurant was closed when I arrived, but the receptionist prepared me a fine nasi goreng! So overall a great stay.

“Comfortable stay for two nights”

Nice and spacious room, spa bath in the room upstairs was fabulous and with a tv installed inside the bathroom. Very firm and comfy bed. Staff were helpful, even with their little English they would bend over backwards to make sure we were okay.

“Best hotel we stayed at during our trip”

This was by far our favorite hotel we stayed at during our trip in Japan. The place is located next to a kofun which makes the area so peaceful and quiet. At night you could hear the crickets and cicadas while being in your private hot tub in your private little garden. The room was very, very spacious, beautifully decorated. I wish we had planned more days in Nara, so we could spend more time in this little oasis.

Hotel location outside of town is perfect for a getaway stay and the staff were very helpful.
