The room was better than expected. Very clean. Equipped with a fridge, air conditioning, washer-dryer machine. Very close to bus stop tennou shita. Very quiet place. The restaurant downstairs.

Very simple but lovely little apartment. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was quiet. Great bath and shower. Washing machine if you needed it. We ate downstairs at the restaurant run by the lovely couple who own the flat. Extremely cheap and nice food. We walked there from Uno port - just 1.1km and easily walked to Benesse and the other museums although the bus is available outside if you prefer to use transport. A hidden gem - photos don’t do it justice.

The property was terrific but the people and the atmosphere of the restaurant below the apartment were fabulous. A bunch of locals having dinner and beers in their local restaurant! The meal and the beer were brilliant and the cost, so reasonable.

i booked the hotel with almost 1 month in advance , and had a conversation with them for having some information. once i was almost there i found out that all the museum was closed and Naoshima is an attraction for museum and installations, not a beach resort. i was asking to a cancellation because it have no sense to stay there and complain about the fact that they could advise us before. i can easily change my plans. not to mention the to get there it took me 4h…the staff was not very friendly as usually Japanese people are, i was very surprised because i often travel in Japan and usually the people are super friendly and respectful…finally not a nice experience for me.

Friendly staff, modern, clean property - excellent value for money. Great food in the evening - luckily we were n’t there Sunday and Monday. Great location - shuttle bus stops outside.

Well laid out, spacious, no low ceilings or doorways which is great for westerners. Right next to the bus stop. Light and bright design. The hosts run a nice restaurant downstairs.

“Newly remodeled, very clean, great bargain on Naoshima”

Apartment was newly remodeled with nice wood accents and comfortable, but firm, bedding, a twin in each bedroom. Right next to the Tenno-shita bus stop, or a 20 min. walk with doable hill from Naoshima Honmura ferry and the Art Houses. If you like walking, it is wonderful >30 minute slightly hilly walk to the Benesse House Museum and see the art works along the shoreline and breathtaking expansive views of the Seto Inland Sea. Very convenient to have a washer dryer right inside the unit to use for 100 yen per load. Dryer function took over an hour and was still damp (as is the case with most of these washer/dryer combos in Japan), so we hung our clothes on the clothing bar to line dry instead. Bathroom was all new with a deep soaking tub that was heavenly after a day of exploring this amazing island. The couple also run the ramen restaurant downstairs and make big portions of reasonably priced ramen, stir fry, croquettes and more for dinner. The TV plays all the time, so that's not relaxing. Restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday and most museums on the island (except Benesse) is also closed Mondays. There are also other restaurants that you can walk to near the unit.
