Overview
Satoyama Auberge & Hot Spring Wellness Spa Sakuragaike Kurgarden offers a large indoor pool with both walking and swimming lanes, a spa bath and indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths. Massages and facials can be requested for an extra cost, and rooms feature free Wi-Fi. A free shuttle is available from JR Johana Train Station, which is a 10-minute drive away and must be reserved at time of booking. The air-conditioned rooms feature Mount Hakamagoshi views, a flat-screen TV and a fridge. Japanese Yukata robes and bathrobes are provided for all guests, and green tea can be enjoyed using the electric kettle. The en suite bathroom comes with a hairdryer. Kurgarden Sakuragaike is a 10-minute drive from IOX-AROSA Ski Resort and a 40-minute drive from Shirakawago Historical Village. Dry cleaning and laundry services are available at the front desk. Local products can be purchased at the souvenir shop and guests can also refresh in the sauna rooms. Free parking is on-site. Modern hotel set near the mountains. Spacious and comfortable room, large indoor and quaint outdoor onsen. There is also a very large heated pool where you can either soak or water-walk. Adjacent is a lap pool. The traditional breakfast was elaborate and varied. Many restaurants within 10min drive. UNESCO heritage sites like Gokayama only 30min drive away. Ideal for a peaceful relaxing stay.

Elegant interior, comfortable, spacious and quiet room. Best traditional Japanese dinner of my whole trip. The onsen and the spa was also incredible (especially later in the evening with fewer guests)

“Lovely onsen hotel”
The place was nice and comfortable, absolutely correct. On top of that we had access to the onsen and pool for free as hotel guests we loved it.

It's a wonderful small hotel. Very clean and a big pool and onsen. The only small issue we had was a bit hassle to drive to the property as the closest highway exit to the hotel only takes the ETC toll card option. Since our rental car does not have an etc toll card, we had to take a longer route (a few more km) from the next available exit and drove through the towns to finally get access to the hotel. If your car has an ETC toll card installed, then it's not a problem at all.

A very peaceful stay here. Large rooms and the onsen is very relaxing! The breakfast is very good too! There's even a large sunflower field just at the parking lot area of the hotel. But not sure if the sunflower field be there next year.
