We love staying at traditional Japanese houses, and this was one of the biggest and most convenient ones we have seen. The garden is also large and very well maintained, and there is plenty of parking space. The beach is a 2 minute walk, and is very unique in that a river also flows through it, so you get to play in both fresh and saltwater. The water is shallow, so it is great for small kids as well.

You really get a sense of how it is to live in a wonderful old Japanese house with a beautifully maintained garden. There is a lot of space and the quiet beach next to the house is a delightful. We found some lovely cafes and restaurants nearby.

Fantastic 100 year old traditional family house by the sea. We stayed for 2 nights with 3 guests, had plenty of room and we loved everything: the vibe, the location, the furniture, the decoration, the garden... The bit outdated whale museum is nearby, as well as the small but splendid Ukui Isleland, as part of YoshinoKumano national Park

“Great spacious place with a very kind and responsive attendant”

It's just a short walk from the beach, with a big parking lot and plenty of room. Plenty of heaters for the winter. Lots of bedding. A full kitchen and it's just a 20 minute drive from some major sightseeing locations like Nachi Taisha or Daimonzaka.

The owner met us in the property and said this is the house that his grand father built it 150 years ago. It is a huge beautiful house with beautiful Japanese garden. It also has partial view to ocean and old Japanese decorations that we found it beautiful. I recommend to stay here.
