A real family vibe, ran by an elderly couple and their Grandson. Central location to 5 snow resorts, walk to 1, bus stop almost out front to get to others. I was so happy and relaxed staying there. Shops nearby, 100 metres. Great breakfast.

A classic example of Pension hospitality, mama was friendly and generous, we stayed in a tatami room on the floor. A wonderful experience for the kids. The on site Onsen was excellent and very organic. Breakfast was plentiful and the location was very good.

Nice and cozy place managed by a sweet elderly couple and their grandson. They could speak english really well so don’t worry about any communication barriers. The rooms were spacious and clean. Additionally, it is walking distance to Alpen Blick Resort and there is a nice Chinese Restaurant right beside it.

Honest review. The place is old and could definitely use a complete make over. However, it is fun as a "family" style ryokan, with shared onsen, communual breakfast each morning, and an elderly couple that do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. It is not flash but it is warm and comfy.

Ma & pop were wonderful hosts. The onsen was hot steamy and relaxing - perfect after a day on the snow. The breakfast was amazing & substantial- eggs ham toast croissants & yoghurt with fruit.

Love the onsen in the house, and the warmth of the host. The location is very central within Myoko, with most things just within 10 mins drive away. The room was comfortable for a traditional Japanese home.

The owner made us welcome. Our room was a good size It had western beds We had a hand basin and toilet in our room. The kerosene heater in our room was effective The coffee at breakfast was good The breakfast yoghurt and fresh banana were most welcome There is a bus stop 80 metres away.so easy access to Akakura and Suginohara 10 and 15 minutes away.

The owner, an Japanese couple, are so lovely and they take care of you :) The in-house onsen is great. The breakfast is very good. Beds and rooms have the old Japanese flair, which I loved.

Make sure to read a few reviews if this is what you are looking for - in our case it was he charming authentic vintage Japanese guesthouse experience we were looking for and we were very happy. This small hostel is run by a very friendly elderly couple with a lot of passion that are putting their hear into their work. You can pick up tea and water at any time and there are some small bites too. The rooms are nice. The onsen might feel a bit basic for some but with a little bit of luck you may spend there some time to relax without a huge crowd even on your own if you go there off peak hours. The Location is 10/10 also in sumre - just 5 min walk to a pond where especially at sunrise you can see the vulcano of Mt Myoko reflecting in the water… Later during the day often clouds may build up and first Hide the mountain and later also might be the source of some showers which can be very heavy if you Approach the higher elevations. By the way: Breakfast is a bit more western style like

This is a small ryokan with ensuite toilets in every room run by a friendly and obliging elderly couple in great location 1km from Alpenblick skifield and 400m from Alpenblick spa with its famous black water pools and great Japanese restaurant. There is not a shared bathroom in the western sense, but a simple but authentic private onsen in house. The hot water and teabags and snacks in the corridor were much appreciated as was the hot drink and biscuits at reception on returning from skiing .
