Griesbrau is our first choice for this region. Rooms, staff, location, parking and especially the breakfast are all top notch. They try to allocate us our “regular” room to the extent possible. The Restaurant and Bierhalle has a relaxed and traditional atmosphere with great German dishes and their own brew! You will not go wrong lodging at the Griesbräu👍

The staff were very pleasant. Especially a guy called Sam. We were there to commemorate my Dad's liberation by the Americans 80 years ago from Oflag VIIa.

The room was large; it was very quiet due to its location on the second floor in the backyard; the lack of a lift was announced; (free) parking worked reasonably, when you arrived early enough; breakfast buffet was very good and diverse;

Large, bright, well-presented breakfasting rooms with a wide choice of items. Excellent service from staff. Having stayed at the Griesbräu four times, I've stayed in different rooms in the main hotel and in their additional accommodation directly across the road - all have been excellent. Reception staff efficient and knowledgeable; service in the indoor bar and restaurant and in the large exterior courtyard always prompt and helpful; room service staff excellent; in all the Griesbräu staff are a great team. The location is ideal for travellers and holiday-makers: right in the heart of Murnau and a very short walk to surrounding parks, the lake and its 'steamships', cafes, shops, the museums, art-galleries, restaurants etc. Also a short walk to the rail station which is convenient for those wanting to explore the many other nearby alpine towns, villages and sights. All in all, a first class hotel in a great location.

About 15 minutes walking from the main station but very convenient for the town centre. Friendly and helpful staff at reception. Brightly decorated, good sized room with good storage space. Spacious bathroom with good storage space and easy to access shower with good pressure and temperature. Excellent buffet breakfast with good selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt, breads, cheese and meats in a spacious breakfast room.

Staff not only helpful but friendly ! Size of the room , excellent bathroom and shower Quiet room but all Murnau is quiet Breakfast complete and fresh ( except coffee not strong enough ) Good parking facilities

The perfect location for a visit to Bavaria. Staff were all very pleasant, my room was spotlessly clean and breakfast, although quite basic choices, was delicious. coffee was strong and hot!

The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was excellent, the room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The location on the main street of Murnau is great. They also have a private brewery with exceptional Bavarian beer, I highly recommend it!
