History and location

What a wonderful experience it was to stay at Forgandenny house & to meet our very gracious & attentive hosts Robbie & Errol. We were warmly welcomed &  really felt like we were visiting ones very goods friends.  The house is steeped in history & lovingly cared for & maintained by Robbie & Errol. The rooms each with their ensuits are spacious & very comfortable. The house sits within beautiful gardens with fresh roses from the garden in every room. The breakfasts prepared by our hosts were exceptional & there was always something delicious to accompany coffee & tea throughout the day & night. Topping the evening with a port or sherry was most enjoyable.  The location is very central to everything that Mudgee has to offer being only a short walk to the shops , restaurants & art galleries. Wineries are a short drive away.  Our short stay at Forgandenny House was just not long enough. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfort & ambience of the house & Robbie & Errols generous & warm hospitality. A stay at Forgandenny House is highly recommended

“Beautiful Forgandenny House”

Robyn and Errol are exceptional hosts and Forgandenny House is by far the best B&B we have stayed at. It has amazing charm and is very well located close to parks, restaurants and shops in the heart of Mudgee. The breakfasts created by Robyn each morning are legendary. We stayed in the Queen Suite, which had its own sunny sitting room over looking the manicured gardens. We absolutely love Forgandenny House and look forward to staying again.

Having travelled extensively and stayed in many types of accommodation around the world, we can confidently say that the experience here surpassed them all. The personal hospitality from Robbie was truly outstanding—gracious, attentive, and thoughtful in every way. From the moment we arrived, we felt not just welcomed, but genuinely cared for. The house itself, dating back to the early 1900s, is an absolute gem. Our room was tranquil, elegant, and full of charm—perfectly suited to the character of the home. Each morning began with a breakfast that went well beyond our expectations, lovingly prepared and delicious in every detail. We also appreciated the thoughtful treats available throughout the day—tea, coffee, cookies, and cakes that made us feel right at home. Location-wise, it’s ideal—just a short walk into the heart of Mudgee, where we enjoyed exploring the local cafés and restaurants. This is a place we’ll be recommending wholeheartedly to friends, family, and anyone looking for a peaceful escape with impeccable hospitality. This place is a little gem in mudgee, Robbie the owner is very friendly and informative of the area. The breakfast was second to none.
