“Great place to stay for visiting the sights around Morondava!”

Morondava didn't have many places to stay, but I was happy stumble upon Havana. The location is great, right in the middle of town and with direct access to the main road. The rooms were great as well, with a nice bed, a table (which is always handy), a great shower (when it worked, sometimes it had a poor stream, but this is Madagascar!) and more. I think the place is quite new; everything looked like it had been maybe a few years old at the most. Not like a place where the photos on the booking site where from 'the glory years' a few decades ago. The price for all of this was unbeatable, especially if you don't require something more luxurious like a beach side resort accommodation. If you just wanted to visit the sights and have a nice clean place to rest your head afterwards, then Havana is a great option. They have breakfast on site and though there is no restaurant, you can order dinner and it's brought to the hotel in about 30 minutes or so. Special shout out to the wonderful receptionist Gaston,who really helped me out before and during my stay! He was quick to help me with any question I had and also spoke English, which really helped for me. He also arranged a friendly driver for airport transfer, as well as to take me to some sites, like the Avenue, Baobab Amoureux and the nature park Zazamalala. It was for very reasonable prices I thought, even for a solo traveller like myself.

After about 20-hour Cotisse ride from Tana, I arrived at around 2 a.m. in Havana, dead tired. I was very grateful, though, for the warm welcome from the reception staff. Overall, it was a really friendly and quiet place.

The hotel is located right on the main road, which made the location very convenient. The staff were kind and helpful, even arranging a taxi charter for me. The room was clean and spacious, and the shower had plenty of hot water.

“Great, Value for money”

The hotel entrance resembles a corridor, but the reception is located on the first floor. The rooms are nice, with particularly spacious bathrooms. The usual rate does not include air conditioning. The staff are truly amazing and extremely helpful. Although there were frequent power cuts, the hotel’s generator ensured there was no disruption to the electricity supply.

very clean and comfortable. right opposite the main market but very close to the beach. we didn’t want another beach stay, we wanted to be in the heart of Morondava and it was perfect for that.
