Second floor apartment true, but when you open the front door there is another flight of stairs up to the apartment itself. Odd area but actually very close to the shops and restaurants.

“Very short but enjoyable stay.”
The host was very considerate and left a small bottle of wine as a welcome. The actual apartment was a very pleasant surprise considering the building entrance.

It was central and lots of space even for a small apartment. The facilities were great. Comfortable bed and the fan a great help as it was hot.

Information about parking was poor. In fact since Feb 2022 Montlucon operates 4 different coloured parking zones. Nearby streets are blue zones, and signage seemed to say parking restriction don’t apply on Sunday nor bank holidays and other days only apply from 09:00 to 18:30, so as we arrived Saturday evening and left on Sunday morning we had easy free parking. Better info from the host would have been useful. NB// the far end of Rue de la Reunion appears to have no restrictions, ie is not part of the 4 colour zones.
