Les Salamandres is a perfect base for exploring the châteaux nearby and further afield. Quiet, charming, old French traditional style place. We had the family room and it was cool and very comfortable during some hotter days, and especially nights . The hosts, Nathalie and Fafa are very friendly and welcoming. Fafa is an excellent chef. We had a lovely dinner on our arrival and a superb paella one evening during our stay.

“Lovely traditional place to discover the Loire valley castles”
A lovely base for exploring the châteaux Les Salamandres is a charming, traditional place built around a courtyard — exactly the kind of accommodation that feels genuinely French rather than generically “boutique.” We stayed in the family room and were very comfortable. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, and we had some lovely conversations over the course of our stay. On arrival we enjoyed a homemade dinner (available on certain days — worth booking ahead), and breakfast the next morning was just right. We happened to share the table with another family and ended up exchanging tips on the local châteaux, which was a nice bonus. The location is ideal for visiting the most famous castles in the region, all within easy reach.
