“A memorable stay on our French roadtrip!”

This was a beautiful quiet location in lovely settings. Our hosts were very friendly and kind and we enjoyed a very pleasant evening with them and another couple and a glass or two of wine! We didn’t use the pool but it looked very inviting! We had a lovely breakfast after a stroll around the gardens next to the river. It was such a relaxing stay in a beautifully renovated farmhouse, one to remember! Thank you!

“The most wonderful experience”

Only superlatives suffice for our experience at La Bigottière. Frédéric is the most charming host who does everything to make the stay a real pleasure. The property has been built up from ruins to the highest specifications. The bedroom we were privileged to stay in had hand painted walls and the most comfortable bed. The furnishings were very artistic and the shower was super hot and powerful. Breakfast was an absolute delight with locally sourced products. The attention to detail in all respects was second to none. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The kindness of the host who after our car broke down was exceptional in helping with lifts and because of our limited French in communication .The room and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed evening meals, the garden and the dogs

Nice welcome from the owners, tastefully renovated property, a nice sized outdoor swimming pool with sun decks, adjacent to open countryside with large areas of onsite parking. Breakfast was simple but very nice and mostly home produced.

Everything about the place exudes quality. The place itself was quiet and very peaceful. The facilities were excellent and the host was superb. Everything you could want was there.

Full of charm and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Lovely pool and if you like dogs then get ready for a treat when you meet Serge and Roger! Our family room was immaculate and incredibly well thought out with ingenious space saving ideas to fit four comfortably.

Beautiful, peaceful location, and lovely renovated building with spacious ensuite rooms with terrace and views of a small river below and surrounding countryside. Access to spacious living space/ breakfast room with coffee machine The outside swimming pool was a bonus- bring your swimming costume! Very friendly welcoming and accommodating owners, and their also very friendly dogs Serge and Roger came to greet us. As we were tired from the journey, they offered to heat us a quality 3 course ready meal, which we enjoyed on the terrace as the sun went down. Breakfast was a very delicious spread of pancakes, pastries, cereal, yoghurt , fruit and jams. All local produce. Good parking and open space with chairs dotted about to relax. Plenty of country walks and the village of Montigné le Brillant, which has a bar/tabac/ restaurant and boulangerie is less than a mile's walk away. It's also famous for a huge regional 'Vide Grenier' (french equivalent to a car-boot), which was on on the Sunday. We came for only 2 nights for a family wedding and it was the perfect location- we could come and go as we please and there was a key code box so we could come back late. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Hopefully we'll be back- merci!

Our second stay because of the quality of the bed, the welcome and the breakfast. A great stop over for cyclists and we will return.

“Beautifully renovated farmhouse”

A beautifully renovated farmhouse in a rural setting next to a stream...idilic. The owners are an artisan carpenter and mid-wife, and they couldn't do enough for us and cooked a lovely vegetarian meal. Wish we could have stayed longer but our bike tour beckons. Joe and Ben

My husband and I are still smiling after spending the night at this exquisite accommodation - our experience was flawless. It is abundantly clear why this property and the hosts, have recieved such high praise from other reviewers; this is a very very special place, which has been skillfully crafted and presented by Maude and Frederic. Here are some highlights: a lush location by a river, (our) plush, spacious ensuite bedroom with unique features (you'll see when you get there) a delicious and locally sourced breakfast served in a divine breakfast space, 2 bouncy, friendly and well behaved dogs, an outdoor pool, multiple outdoor seating areas (we chose loungers by the river) and the piece de resistance- charming, funny, cool, laid back hosts who allowed us to relax in and enjoy the space that they have artfully created together. Bravo!
