Very friendly hosts, will give you information on things to do, book restaurants, ..... Super quiet property in the countryside. Old house renovated in style and furnished with old antique furniture. We loved being there, and having the chance to talk to other guests. Breakfast will be served at a big table for all guests, French style (croissants, bread, and homemade jam). If you ask nicely and the hens were willing to cooperate, you might be served an egg.

A truly wonderful country house, carefully rebuilt with utmost attention to detail. Besides the 3 rooms that I believe are equally beautiful, the whole property is stunning, including the "breakfast area" (country house kitchen/salon), the garden with a giant (!) magnolia, a chicken barn with a baby peacock being raised by a rooster and a hen, an outdoor oven, etc., all surrounded by corn fields. I really don't know how to improve the property or the ambiance it gives. JM & Greg are lovely hosts and give great recommendations for nearby places to visit and restaurants to eat at. Trust them with their advice, you won't be disappointed. Do yourself a favor and stay at least 2 nights to have enough time to soak everything in.

“A very special stay at Le Clos Chalmon!”

A very special stay in Montignac - we came to the area to attend a wedding, and this accommodation offered a lovely location (accessible by car). The home is renovated beautifully, with so much charm and attention to detail. The bed was comfortable and the silence offered a great nights sleep. The property grounds were beautiful and we adored the owners three cats! (They weren’t allowed upstairs/within vicinity of bedrooms, although we’d have welcomed them!). Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed the other guests and hosts company. The host made a restaurant booking for us which was a nice touch, and his recommendations for local sightseeing was useful. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend to others who are finding themselves in the area!

We absolutely adored our time at Le Clos Chalmon! So much love, time and energy has gone into renovating and decorating this beautiful place, that it’s a total pleasure to spend time there. Our stay was made all the more special by JM. We couldn’t have asked for a more informed, helpful, charming and accommodating host; his knowledge of the local caves, chateaux, churches and villages is exceptional. JM and Gregory (who we didn’t get to meet) have even produced a delightfully designed guidebook for the rooms. We hope to return at some point in the near future.

Jean and Greg have done an amazing job in restoring and creating a beautiful and welcoming place to be. It’s very peaceful and we loved the rural tranquility, only a short drive from Montignac-Lascaux.

Lovely relaxing location, beautiful scenery, absolutely stunning decor, amazing host, just fabulous all round. We loved our stay here and hope to return. We didn't want to leave.

Beautiful old style house with incredible hosts! We had a wonderful stay at Clos de Chalmon. It's a very quiet place in the countryside, the rooms were beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfortable. Great attention to details by the hosts. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts super welcoming and friendly! Highly recommend :)
