Overview
Set in an 18th-century blacksmith’s shop, this guest house is located in Loire Valley, a 30-minute drive from Amboise. You can enjoy the 2-hectare, landscaped garden surrounding the property, play on the swings or pet the farm animals. La Maréchalerie offers guest rooms and an apartment, all featuring a rustic décor, antique furniture and exposed wooden beams. All the accommodations have a private bathroom with shower and WC. Some of the accommadations have a private, furnished terrace. Homemade jams are served for breakfast every morning in the communal lounge, by the forge that now functions as a fireplace. Dani, the host, was very welcoming and friendly with us. He gave us a lot of information about places in the area to visit and useful tips. The breakfast was very complete too. He made us feel at home! The house is a cottage, with an idyllic garden and animals around. There was also a barbecue place to be used by the guests.

“Exceptional experience”
This house deserves more than 10 stars. Exceptionally nice Monsieur Niedbalski, who provided us with lots of information on the best destinations according to our interests. Incredibly cosy house with marvellous garden, where you literally feel that time stops. Our stay was unforgettable.

“A rustic return to nature with France’s friendliest hosts. We will be back!”
We came to visit as a couple looking for a remote getaway in the Loire valley region. Danny was amazing, his English was great, his knowledge of the area was completely exceptional and what he doesn’t know about chateaus isn’t worth knowing. The property itself is rustic, has beautiful period features and smells like a beautiful open fire somehow? The bedrooms are clean, the bathrooms are pleasant, the grounds are completely astounding. The geese, ducks, chickens and goats are a delight. The breakfast is pleasant and fresh including fresh fruit and veg from the land you’re sleeping on, it’s all perfect, we couldn’t rate it higher!

The place, especially the property, with all the cozy spots to sit, and the animals, was great. Danny, the owner, was very nice and helpful. He gave us great advice on what to see in the area, and also helped us with our car problems. We strongly recommend this place; it was very cosy, and very good value for money!
