“I only stayed 2 nights but would have liked to have stayed more”

Alma Historica Hotel is in a smartly renovated & extended old building in the Old City of Montevideo. The area is pretty shabby at present but has a lot of charm. It is very convenient for people who use the Buquebus high speed ferry to & from Buenos Aires. The beds were firmer than my preference but still comfortable. The staff were very helpful & friendly.

“A very comfortable and relaxing stay”

The breakfast was very good. There was plenty of variety of things to choose from and cooked eggs, which ever way you like them, were always offered. The hotel has a very individual feel and is in a beautiful old building. The staff were always extremely helpful and spoke very good English which helped us.

The historic theme runs through the hotel, even down to the cute and authentic tea cups and crockery. The bedrooms are all individual and honour important people in Uruguayan history.

Breakfast was quaint, adequate and fresh. Eggs as required, Beautiful fruit drink on offer, table service. Room was large, bed very comfortable, bathroom and shower very nice if not a little tight for 2 but functional. Rooms were very quiet, lift access. In great location in the centre of the old town. Staff were very helpful with all enquiries, bookings and Cabs etc

“Fantastic stay at a super hotel in Montevideo”

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The service is exceptional and the whole staff are friendly and accommodating. They let us into our room a little earlier than the checkin time which was so kind as it was raining. The rooms are large, comfortable and the breakfast was superb. All in all a fantastic stay which lived up the great reviews this hotel already has. Well done the Alma Hotel!

“Exquisite stay, fabulous staff, TOP”

Very tastefully decorated - everything was beautifully done, including the porcelain in China at breakfast. The beds were very comfortable, the quality of the towels were amazing. The shampoo and body lotion was great. It was absolutely a beautiful hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming, helpful, friendly, really great state. I only regret we didn’t have more time so we could enjoy it more. Breakfast was incredibly fresh varied and very high-quality products. Definitely the best breakfast we had in Uruguay . The hotel is located in the old town of the city where there’s a lot of culture, beautiful architecture, and great Wine Bar called VITIS. We walked around at night and had no problem and really enjoyed the authentic feel of this historical Neighbourhood.

The staff were amazing, they could not do enough for you. Breakfast was really quaint with traditional tea sets. The room was beautiful.
