Overview
We are located just 5 minutes from downtown Santa Elena, in front of the 606 service station. The Pensión Colibrí Bed & Breakfast is your best option to discover Monteverde. We are a Costa Rican family, we offer 5 beautiful wooden cabins with private bathroom, hot water shower, daily cleaning service is offered. There are rooms with mountain views. It has a garden and an area with hammocks to relax. There is free Wi-Fi connection throughout the building, adapted for people with reduced mobility. We also have a private parking, a shared kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric skillet, rice cooker, blender and kitchen utensils. The staff was amazing, breakfast was delicious! The shared kitchen wasn’t used by any other guests, so it felt like our own! The bench and hammock chairs were an excellent place to sit at night and admire the landscaped pathway

We enjoyed our stay at this B&B with the family around us. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed trying to use the bit of Spanish we have. We didn't use the kitchen facilities as there was a very nice restaurant pointed out to us 70m away though there is a supermarket very close by should you want to cook. The fruit at breakfast was amazing as was all the homemade patchwork. The bed was comfy, everything worked fine in the bathroom.

Cabinas Colibri is in a great Location. Very close to restaurants, supermarkets, and Monteverde's best attractions. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. Macha and Francisco were wonderful hosts. They gave us honest and useful travel recommendations to make the most of our journey. My family and I would book again there.

Lovely property! Owners are very nice, they prepared us delicious traditional breakfast every morning and offered to join the dinner when celebrating kids birthday on our first day. They also booked us very good tours. We felt very welcome and comfortable! Truly recommend it!

“A very cosy stay and lovely hosts!”
When you stay here, you are really into the Costa Rican life. Breakfast was in their house, very cosy. Macha did also the laundry, which was very nice! It is only 1,5 km from Santa Elena, so a nice trip to walk in the evening after dinner. There are facilities in the shared kitchen to prepare your own meal.

“Great value for true Tico family B&B”
The place is run by Macha, Victor, Francisco, Manuel and the rest of the family. From the moment we made the reservation, they made sure we enjoyed our stay and helped us whenever they could. They gave us great advice and helped us with booking tours and transport (and made sure we paid the right price). Once we got there, they gave us a heartfelt welcome and made us feel right at home. The bus driver knew the family and dropped us off right in front of the pension. The rooms are simple, wooden cabins. However, it is well run, clean and there is everything you need. A supermarket is right next door. There is pavement all the way to the town center, which is about 1.5km away. We either walked or took a cab. We loved breakfast and talking to the family. If you like interaction with locals and great value, don't look any further.

Machita and Victor are the best. Great hosts, which is, with hot (and running) water, very important for a solo traveller! They do everything to make you feel comfortable. It is even possible to board the public bus to San José in front of the Pension... Gracias to this wonderful family!

Absolutely loved this place! I really can't rate CABINAS Colibri B&B highly enough. The owners were so lovely and went above and beyond for us. They helped us with all our bookings of tours and buses. Breakfast was great! Fresh fruit, Toast with homemade jam, and traditional gallo pinto with eggs. The room was really lovely also. Done in beautiful wood. And finished with all had made traditional Costa Rican style. The whole place was very clean and tidy. We had our best stay right here in Costa Rica. Thankyou so much for your hospitality.
